Have you ever searched for a 4 leaf clover? Its bloody hard you never find what you are looking for it turn up when you don't expect it and really if you are meant to have the luck of finding one it would be the luck of the first one you picked having four leaves. You don't search for luck it finds you.
And you are already luck enough to have a nice guy who has given you a book of love poems and made an attempt to find a lucky closer.
Count your blessing you have a boyfriend who truly loves you and is not scared to show it.
John is you four leaf clover cherish him don't give him a hard time. Appreciate the gesture

Do you realise how lucky you are for a man to give you a book of poetry, never mind pressing a four leafed clover (fake or otherwise) into it?
He's one in a million, whether he looked for months for a clover or thought he was being creative/cute/clever in making one. It's all I can do to get mine to make me a cup of tea after slaving over an oven making his and his son's dinner. Still love him dearly, but would KILL to make him a little more considerate/intelligently thoughtful like yours!!!!!!
If the fake/real dilemma is your biggest issue right now, then you're far luckier than 99.9% of the rest of us

Personally I think John did try and you should give him points for that. Don't read anymore into it than is necessary.
Maybe he should have searched harder but don't let a leaf come between you if everything else is going good for you. Some women don't even get a card but you have a book of love poems consider yourself favoured.

I've looked and looked and never found one a four leaf clover. That was a very nice thing for him to do.
If you're angry, you likely feel undervalued. My question would then be: why do you feel undervalued after someone did all of that for you? Many people would have been happy with such a gesture of affection.
The issue isn't what he did. The issue is your reaction and self-esteem.

oh for gods sake grow up!!!!! Appreciate the gesture - i dont know many guys that would go to that trouble in the first place. Say nothing and count yourself lucky that you have a boyfriend that is at least thoughtful enough to go to the trouble.

aww thats so sweet!!!
he probably did search really hard in first place, just because he didnt ness find one doesnt mean he didnt try!!
so what if its fake, its the thought that counts and be glad he loves you enough to have done it all in the first place!

Why are you letting a plant challenge your relationship? Maybe if he gave you a poison ivy should you call him on it.

Aww, come on. I'm sure he tried. Isn't it nice that he made do with what he could find? Kind of romantic, no?
