Some Christians think it's wrong. But a lot of psychics claim to BE Christians! Some psychics say it's a gift. What are Christian's thoughts on this?

It would be wrong, for two reasons.

First, there is no evidence whatsoever that people can find out their futures by going to "psychics." That's because whatever the psychic tells them, they subconsciously set things in motion to make it happen -- if it happens at all.

Second, relying on someone who supposedly knows the future displays a lack of faith and trust in Christ. It displays a lack of confidence in Him to look after us and to grant us true blessings in life that are good for us.

I think that Julia is absolutely right. But besides that, lets analyze prophets in the Old Testament. They were certainly predicting the future. But did you actually see anyone making a business out of it? Moreover, they were not predicting the future by some special powers they had. It was God talking directly to them and telling them what to say. I think psychics say they are Christian, but they claim to have a power that is only God's so, in my opinion they are not really Christians. They probably need to revise their beliefs.
On the other hand, it's just a waste of time. why do you want that info anyways? What can you do with it? In any case, it's so vague that lots of things can come true, even if I tell them to you, and I'm no psychic.

Psychic & Prophets these two words can be interchanged. How do you think we came to know of Jesus's coming in the first place. I believe if you have this gift that the use of it needs to be monitored. I can read minds. This isn't something I asked for or paid money to be able to do. I believe the Lord still has Prophets in current times.

In my opinion, it's wrong. Me, being a christian myself, the only person who show or tell me anything about my life is god. People have their opinions but no one can actually TELL you how you're going to live. I don't think I'm a psychic. But I do believe God put prophets on this earth. God lives in everyone. Some know it, and some don't.

Be Blessed....

It is trusting is someone other than Jesus. Psychics are not Christians---anybody can claim to be a Christian, but that doesn't make it necessarily so. If it is outside the realm of Jesus Christ, then it is regarded as witchcraft.

In a very strict sense, Christianity rejects all forms of 'witchcraft', divination, magic, etc. The reason is that practitioners of such crafts most often claim to channel spirits, cosmic forces, dead people or some ancient magic, and this comes into conflict with the belief of one, sole true God.

The Bible says in Galatians 5:19-21 "now the works of the flesh are manifested, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness---Idolatry, witchcraft, wrath,strife,sedition's,heresies,---Envying, murders, drunkenness, revel lings, and such like: of the which i tell you before,as i have told you in time past, that they that do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
The best thing to do is what the Bible says "search the scriptures for in them you think you have eternal life."Go on line to www. Bible search & ask God to show you the things that you are asking questions on. He will help you find the answers. My answer would be NO, i would not go to a psychic. You are opening doors to the deamons.

Alot of people CLAIM to be Christian and yet Jesus says he will reply to them, "I never knew you" (Matthew 7:22, 23). The scriptures at Deuteronomy 18:10-13 show that it is wrong in God's eyes. At Acts 16:16 the Bible talks about a girl who has a demon of divination and Jesus casts this demon out of her. Doesn't sound to me like it is anything he approves of.

One only has to go to the Book of Samuel and learn why not to consult with a psychic. For one thing... most are fake. And if you do find a real genuine article... they use powers that are not of God. I would read up on King Saul... and see what happened to him.
