or does the way we apply higher education the most important method? Many professors have mis-applied their education and have turned to indoctrination instead of instruction, would you say?

The problem is that a human being is involved and he may and usually does fail to properly apply that Highly Educated brain to important issues. He will use it to Gamble, Con and Play but not WORK.

I'd say higher Education is essential for the development of the individual, thus the society he lives in. The poorest countries in the World are also the ones with a less educated population. But in the long run, the world's problems or solutions are determined by people's actions, not what they learn at school.

higher education cannot solve the worlds problems until all people - the poor and deprived - are all educated as well. People who are ignorant to racism, criticism, religious orientations, and all sort of other human differences will never understand that we are all basically the same with different beliefs. Until we try to understand the cultural differences we all stand divided. I might add that ignorance is not limited to the uneducated or poor as i see very smart and rich people do very ignorant things. Giving everyone an education and getting rid of poverty world wide are our 2 biggest steps to solving our world problems.

There will always be problems. Just when you think you've solved one another one appears. I'm not sure where you're going with this higher education, but I got an education so I could make a decent living, not to solve the world’s problems, I’ve got enough of my own to deal with.
