Studying for pharmacology is not easy. There is no right way to study for it. Depending on what you are going into is a major difference in the depth of knowledge of the drugs.
Nursing/Pharmaceutical Sales: You need to know everything about the drugs. But this will come with time and I hope you have a long time to learn this crap. Nursing Drug Cards from Barnes and Nobel are great to use for short studying periods. You can use them as flash cards and study material.
Fine break down of the categories, the class, and action of the drugs is extrememly important to know the drugs.
The main thing is you need to know only a percent of all the drugs on the market. Know your basics (cardiac drugs, diabetic drugs, etc)
Another way to remember some drugs is to watch TV.. LOL.. sounds crazy but everyone knows about Nexium (the little purple pill) and we all know what it is for because of the crazy comercials.
Just be patient and take it all in slowly and don't overload your brain or it will all flush.

I think the best way to study Pharmacology is to divide the drugs into their family. For example if you want to learn all the Beta-Blockers separate the drugs in that family. Just do the same thing for all of them. If you look at their chemical name the drugs in the Beta-Blocker family end with the same last three letters. I hope this helps. I had to study the drugs for my Pharmacy Tech.

Block out GIRLS! And if you have a wife, keep her happy while you study.
I saw this tiny girl come on the "Tonight Show" with Johnny Carson. She had been on the Bill Cosby Show as a Huckstable I think. So, Johnny asks her,"How many times do you have to repeat your lines to memorize them?" GUESS what she said? "....2, three, ....4, 5....sometimes 6, 7 , 8 , 9, 10 times."
Repetition and writing it OVER and OVER and OVER does it EVERY time. It's amazing. I COULD have been a pharmacist if I wanted to. But, I COULDN'T BELIEVE that III was ACTUALLY memorizing the stuff MYSELF!!
Also, I had to take a Series 6&63 exam for my securities licenses. My manager said, "PRAY BEFORE YOU TAKE IT PRAY WHILE YOU ARE STUDYING, PRAY WHILE YOU ARE TAKING THE EXAM, AND PRAY AFTER YOU GET DONE WITH THE EXAM!" I DID that!! And GUESS what happened?
I had like 2 hours to finish with 100 questions on the series 6 part. I finished it in 40 minutes!!!!!!!!! I told the lady I was too exhausted for the Series 63 part, ONLY 50 questions, and she SCREAMED at me,"TAKE IT! YOU'LL HAVE TO PAY THE SAME IF YOU FAIL IT NOW, AND HAVE TO RE-TAKE IT!!"
So, I took it, finished those 50 questions in about 30 minutes, and then I had to get the results. I PASSED 'EM BOTH!!!!!!!! AND TO BEAT IT ALL, A FRIEND HAD HIS BABY BOY THAT NIGHT, AFTER I GOT TO THE HOSPITAL!!
HAVE FAITH BRO!
