To make anything a formula you need to start the cell with "=" So for multiplication typing "=4*3" will give the result 12. The symbol for division is "/" and for subtraction is "-".

Alternatively, =product(x, y, z...) can do multiplication and =quotient(x,y) can do division

If you want to show something as a percentage you can just choose that style as the cell format.

Filter is best explained in the Excel built-in help. Is this enough?

Multiplication: = 2*2
Division: = 4/2
Subtraction: =3-1
Percentages: it's not a function, it's a format. Say, you have a cell that says 0.37. If you click the percentage button on the formatting toolbar, it will display as 37%.

Filter function... Select the data you want to filter. Then click on Data | Filter | Auto Filter. Then, use the drop-down menus that appear on top of your data area to filter the data.

Not sure if it is in 2003 as I have 2010 but in Formulas, there is a Date/Time field. Also, have you tried formatting a cell to accept a date Field?

just click the "Fx" button that is next to the bar where you input information for each cell. from there you will be able to choose which function you would like and just click on the cells you want it to perform that function on.
