Why is it that my she-cat attacks my big dog who did nothing to her? Are dogs suppose to attack cats?

Kitty is smaller so she is asserting herself as the dominate one in the relationship. It's her way of assuring herself that she is the boss. In that way, the dog wouldn't think of harming her.
Dog will just learn to stay away from her if it gets too much for him. I am guessing that Kitty was there first? The first one into a household is usually the boss,

It could be playing with each other, or the cat trying to tell the dog to stay away.
Our rabbit chases our cats, so there are no rules in the animal kingdom.
Just keep an eye out and seperate them if you need to.

female cats can be so evil. they are very jealous and defensive. I had a female cat that hissed at everyone and everything except fro me. she even hissed at a dog in the vet waiting room and the dog didn't do anything to her, he was recovering from a seizure or something. her veterinarian said she was passive aggressive.

i had to give my female kitty of 3 years away after I got married because she didn't like my husband around. but not all female cats are that way.

i have a female cat who also slaps at my dog, i love them both, the cat is just telling the dog to not mess with her or else! lol. it's normal, your dog though may have cat scratches, so get them away from each other.

Sounds like shes just initiating some play time..... Cats dont care if the dog is bigger, when they wanna play, they wanna play!!!!

Unless she is hissing or growling she is just playing with him. Mine wags his tail and both cats are all over that toy... I mean tail.

Just get rid of the dog and you won't have any more problems. Dogs are nasty and disgusting anyhow.
