Say the U.S. redeployed all troops back to the states. You think Iraqis would be better off? You think Afghanis would be better off? Consider the Taleban and Al-Sadr. You want the middle east to be over-run by fanatical Islamists bent on the destruction of western civilization? The best chance for the people of the middle east to live in peace and freely is if the U.S. are successful in defeating Islamic fascism there. The troops can't come home because the U.S. faces a treacherous enemy. Moreover, even if the troops did come home that would not mean either 1) there would be less death and destruction for Iraqis or 2) there would be no more American casualties. If the troops come home it will simply mean more chaos in the middle east; more death and destruction in the middle east and very likely more death and destruction in the U.S. The troops can't come home because they are preventing that from happening. The troops can't come home if you want to be able to keep living in freedom in the U.S. That's why the troops can't come home.

If the troops come home, the war comes home too.

Whether or not you agree with the premise, we are in it now, and to retreat means that we get what Israel has local exploding busses aimed at killing normal people.

If you think the war is fake, you can visit the wrong part of Baghdad, and get your head chopped off on tv. The people doing the chopping are either going to do toward the business end of the best trained best armed military in the world on Iraqi soil, or toward the civilian population of the US on US soil.

You cant make someone fall in love, you cant always keep your spouse faithful, or your kids adoring. The most important part of other people is NOT the most available.. its the heart.

We cant come home until the heart issues are addressed.

i agree with mags f, they have a job to do and i'll also add their not done doing it yet. if our troops would come home alot of innocent people would get hurt. once their under control and able to handle things, then our troops will come home. if our troops leaves too soon, all would be lost and the whole meaning would be for nothing. both sides have lost many people and innocent people too, the purpose should not be lost or the lost lives be in vain.
war is war there is no time limit on how long it's going to take place or where it's going to be done. war is death and destruction for both sides, it's not meant to be pleasant or convenient but it's declared for a reason and it's over when it's over.
i wish our troops would come home safely too but it's just not time for them too.

That is not the American way.

We deploy not surrender. Look around we still have troops deployed from the Spanish American War. That was over 100 years ago. We have troops in Germany Japan from WWII Korea etc. We are the deployers not the come home -ers

Because President Bush needs them to invade Iran. Cheaper to keep them there than to fly them back an forth. If President Bush needs them there then we have to believe him and trust his decisions. President Bush wouldn't keep them there unles it was for a good reason. I'm sure he has our national security in mind when making these decisions. I for one feel safer because of President Bush. He's the greatest president this country has ever had.
He has the terrorists on the run. These damned liberals want America to lose and for our Hero soldiers to die. I say if you don't like it then Git yer *** out. We don't want ya.
Now if youll all excuse me I have to go beat my wife and read the bible before the race comes on.

Love it or leave it.
