For four years now the biggest charge by those who support the War in Iraq is that if someone doesn't fully support everything President Bush says and does than that means they want the terrorists to win. "Terrorists" is a nebulous term, generally seeming to mean militant Islamicists who want to destroy America "because they hate our freedom" with no more explanation that that. But I digress. For those of you support President Bush and his War in Iraq: Do you honestly think secular affluent liberals and the rest of us who are just tired of the war really WANT to be blown up or live in an Islamic theocracy?

Note: What we did say was after three weeks in Iraq we would inherit our own West Bank and that's exactly what's happened. Pres Bush says he'll withdraw troops when Iraq can run itself, but the Iraqi government has asked twice for US troops to withdraw and Bush has ignored both requests.

Bill S, Pat Buchanan was the one who said "After three weeks we will inherit our own West Bank". As for Iraqis asking for withdrawal: No, neither Maliki nor this last prime minister that Bush forced out asked for immediate withdrawal. They did ask for a time table. Bush ignored both requests. I think he's prepared to hunker down and run out the clock until January 2009 and dump the whole mess on the next President.

kid, it did make sense. It's the "they hate our freedom" argument that doesn't really make sense.

I think anyone who says 'democrats' or 'republicans' in response to these questions is an idiot!

A lot of people hate america because of what the adminstration does, but no one - other than terrorists - really LOVE terrorists.

The bipartisan mudslinging needs to stop....you people are using the two party system to destroy america therefor YOU are the terrorists.

Great question, BTW

First as I recall no one said "after three weeks in Iraq we would inherit our own West Bank" many people did say that the reason Bush Sr. did not remove Hussain is because it could result in a quagmire, and it has.
However what people need to realize is that this war has become about fighting the Al Queda. Al Queda has decided to fight us in Iraq. If we remove our troops Al Queda will continue to destroy Iraq and kill every one in that country. This would also give them the funds to reconvene strikes in the US.
As for the half truths in your "the Iraqi government has asked twice for US troops to withdraw " That part is true, however what you have conveniently left out is that they have not asked us to remove the troops right now. they have asked us to remove the troops when they are strong enough to defend themselves, and they have said they are not strong enough to defend themselves right now.
The only reason this has become bi-partisan is because the democratic party has decided it may help them in the upcoming elections. Had there been a democratic president in the White House the republican party would be doing the same thing.
I support the war, I still want our troops home. I do not agree with Bush on everything, however I do agree that this mission needs to be completed.
The other end of the coin that you are complaining about is why is it that if you agree with the war, you are a Bush supported and beleive everything he says."For those of you support President Bush and his War in Iraq"
You are not being a terrorist, but you are being a hypocrite.

i don't support Bush because of the way he has gone about the war....he jumped right in and thought it was going to be cake...we are there because of oil...to secure the American dollar for oil...oil is only bought and sold in American money, if oil is sold at another currency our dollar drops...right now it is at an all time low....we won't leave Iraq until it goes up...Bush makes money off the oil and for those of you don't believe thats just your own stupidity...our vice president used to run Haliburton and now owns a large portion of their shares...Haliburton wanted to get more control in Iraq to make more money! If you don't believe me do some research on it

If we were there to protect American and to help the Iraqi citizens then I would be all about supporting Bush, but I am not going to support his alternative motives

The CIA created the Mujahadeen and Al Queda. Osama is nothing more than a boogieman created by our own government.

I love America. I hate the terrorists and they should be brought to justice for their actions IN AMERICA and gainst AMERICA's people, but they didn't attack us because they "hate freedom" Does that make any sense?
