Glazer safety bullets are the only ones I know of that are made not to penetrate hard objects.
They are a shot capsule surrounded by plastic.
The Air Marshall's use them so the plane can not be ruptured.
They would still break ordinary window glass but are made to not break the thick plane windows.

Pointed or rounded does not make a difference.

Pointed in theory would make less impact on the glass, they would focus energy in one point rather than over a wide area. Pointed should make one small hole, where as rounded should transfer energy in a wider area making a larger area of effect possibly shattering the glass.

It would probably depend on the glass. Look it up at the History channel website.

They all 'break glass.' I think what you are asking is which type is less likely to be deflected by glass, such as a car's windshield?

A semi-wad-cutter (pointed flat-nose) is less likely to be deflected by a windshield. Of course, we are talking about handgun bullets, not rifle bullet. Most rifles fire a bullet fast enough that glass offers very little resistance.

Spitzer point and rounded will both break glass...this isn't something to monkey around with as any firearm round WILL penetrate standard glass.

I shot a .22 short at a bottle, several years ago, and it didn't break the bottle, just knocked it over. It had a rounded bullet on it.

Depends on the round and thickness of the glass. Is the round sonic or subsonic? At what distance? Your question is too general in nature.............

At 1500 feet a second or faster I'd say they all break glass.
