I'm Pro Choice, so I understand some won't agree, but if a woman wants to get an abortion, I don't see why anyone she be able to stop her. She may have gotten raped, she may have been too young or too poor to support a child, or she plain made a mistake. Why is it wrong for a woman to get an abortion?

And to those who think I'm Pro Abortion, I'm not. I'm Pro-Choice. I believe a woman has the right to decide whether she chooses to have an abortion or not.

Man, did you pick a time bomb of a question, or what?
Seriously, I am also pro-choice BUT w/ stipulations. I can understand abortion in a case of where either the child was the product of a rape, prenatal tests proove the child will be born severely physically and mentally retarded and if the mother's life is at risk *Sadly, my aerobics instuctor got pregnant and was later forced to abort the pregnancy because she learned she had cancer. Thank God, she is now cancer free and has since had a child. But the child she had to abort saved her life because it was during some of her ultrasounds that the cancer was found*
But I do not condone abortion as a form of birth control. If a woman gets pregnant becase she was too stupid to not use protection or if she is unable to provide a suitable life for the baby, then go with adoption, NOT abortion

I personally am anti abortion, but, I don't feel that my beliefs should be forced on anyone. so because of that, I am pro-choice.
I find that the anti abortion activists to be nutjobs, holding up signs showing dead babies, way to win people to your cause. blowing up clinics, attacking doctors and women going inside.
I do support abortions in the case of rapes, where the life of the mother is in grave danger, and where there is something severely wrong with the fetus (the last 2 are where the third trimester abortions come from) I also think that when a woman goes in to have an abortion, she should be given documentation on alternate solutions (when the above conditions aren't present) and should have a 72 hour period to consider her decision, if, at the end of the 72 hrs, she still wants to go forward, so be it.
Please don't make your beliefs into everyones laws.

Does that child not have a right to life like you did? What if your mother aborted you? Abortion is murder: Plain and Simple. We have the responsibility to speak for the innocent and those who cannot protect themselves. I am amazed that liberals (people who tolerate everything and who seek to protect others less fortunate than themselves) are pro abortion. The woman has every RIGHT to protect her body BEFORE she engages in sex. She can use protection or she can simply abstain and wait until she is married (wouldn't that be nice?). Yes, women have a choice....the power to choose BEFORE having sex!!! Call me traditional. Call me unfair. But if more women are responsible BEFORE having sex...then so many unborn babies would not be murdered.
....not to mention how badly many women are emotionally and possibly physically scarred after having an abortion. This destroys a woman forever. Protect the woman by NOT allowing her have the abortion.
...Sex may be fun....
but it comes with some serious consequences. I can speak from experience: I'm a single mother and I was not a coward...I kept my child. Either love it and keep it or give it to someone who can do that for you. Both choices are brave and courageous. Murder is a cowards way out.

There is nothing wrong with it. We choose to make life and take it everyday. I would much rather see a woman have an abortion than to see her and the child suffer if she had no choice. Women in India are pressured to have late term abortions if they find out the sex of the baby is female!!!! It's estimated that in 20 years 6 million fetus' were aborted due to sex selection. This is immoral and wrong. Abortion should also not be used as a birth control method. In any case, abortion is our own personal right, if we choose to excerise our rights or not, no one should be able to take away our own personal freedom.

If a pregnant woman with tuberculosis already had 8 kids, 3 of whom were deaf, 2 of whom were blind, and 1 who was mentally retarded, and her husband has syphillis, yet another child died in infancy, and the whole family is living in abject poverty, you would probably think she should get an abortion, right?
well if she did she would have killed Ludwig von Beethoven.
abortion is wrong b/c it's destroying a life. it's destroying human potential. every time a baby is killed, we may have murdered the person who could have found the cure for cancer, established peace in the middle east, repaired the ozone layer.
there's no good reason to have an abortion; they're all just excuses. besides, less than 2% of abortions occur b/c of rape or incest, or to save the mother's life.
it's NEVER right to take a life. abortion is WRONG b/c it's MURDER.

It is the death of an innocent life (Revelation 21:8).
If a woman can't (or doesn't want to) raise this child, give it up for adoption. (Don't say there are too many children waiting for adoption. There are thousands of people waiting to adopt children; most children in foster care are not eligible to be adopted)
It's not a matter of "what a woman does with her own body"; it's a matter of what she does to another body, one with different DNA and half the time is a different gender.
I thought it was always humorous how people claim that the "right to an abortion" is a women's issue; why don't they see that MOST aborted babies are FEMALE? You would think that they would want to protect these future female voters, wouldn't you?

It's not. A fetus is a potential life, not an actual. Christianity is probaly the only religion in the world that preaches that life begins at conception. Everyone else says it begins when the baby takes it first breath out of the womb. And then I don't think the Bible says anything about life beginning at conception either...I think the church added that in another attempt to control women's choices and turn them into walking incubators.
A woman's life and body is her business. Her choice about what to do with it should be between her, her doctor, and her God or Gods if she has any. Everyone else should stay out of it, especially men. I hate to sound harsh but if you have never had a uterus you never had an opinion so keep your damn mouth shut.

While on a personal level abortion is not an option for me, I am pro-choice. I am angered when it is used repeatedly as a method of birth control, but there are so many other reasons for a woman to have the right to make the choice. Rape, incest, mental instability.....

It's murder, no ifs ands or buts. You must not commit murder. If your too young you should not be having sex, fornication is a sin. If by rape, the child did not commit that wrong act and should not have to pay for it by losing its life, the baby could be put up for adoption to a loving family. It's a selfish act of murder simply because the woman does not want to content with the pregnancy. Abortion is not a right, it Satan's sick thinking.

It's murder. Plain and simple. Two wrongs don't make a right. If she was raped then the answer is not to make a murderer of her also. The answer is something good can come after something horrible for consolation and redemption of the situation.
If you are Pro Choice than you must believe in human rights. we are trying to stand up for the human right of the little ones who do not have a voice yet.
And please fellow Pro-lifers I WILL Report you if you are rude to this questioner-don't make me go there!
