I have some leeks to use up tonight.....anybody have a good recipe for them? (Not leek and potato soup pleae!)

Ooh, do my amazing leek based stir fry.

First, prepare your sauce. It is:
1.5 tbsp of soy sauce (light)
1.5 tbsp of soy sauce (dark)
1.5 tbsp of vinegar
1.5 tbsp of sugar
some chilli sauce, or failing that, chilli powder (flavour to taste)

Boil this all up until the sugar disappears. Then put to one side.

Then cook up your stir fry, slice the leek into thin strips, bung it all in, with your noodles, and tofu if you like it, or chicken if not! It also adds to it to have some chopped nuts in there too.

Then add your sauce and voila. It is fantastic!

"Leeks and bacon are blended in this creamy, zesty dip."
INGREDIENTS:
1 pound bacon
15 leeks, roots and leaves
removed
3 (8 ounce) packages cream
cheese

2 large cloves garlic
2 1/2 tablespoons
Worcestershire sauce
salt and pepper to taste
DIRECTIONS:
1. Place bacon in a skillet. Cook over medium high heat until evenly brown. Drain and crumble.
2. In a food processor, blend the cooked bacon, leeks, cream cheese, garlic, and Worcestershire sauce until smooth. Season with salt and pepper. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Braised Leeks And Mushrooms
6 leeks
1 cup nonfat beef broth
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons butter or margarine
2 cups mushrooms, quartered
4 servings

1. Remove roots, outer leaves, and tops from leeks, leaving 6 inches of each leek.
2. Cut each diagonally into thirds, then diagonally in half to form 6 triangular pieces.
3. Rinse under cold water; drain well.
4. Combine beef broth, tomato paste, salt, thyme, and pepper in a bowl, and stir with a whisk.
5. Melt butter in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.
6. Add leeks and mushrooms, and saute 6 minutes or until the vegetables are lightly browned.
7. Add broth mixture.
8. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 15 minutes or until leeks are tender.
9. Uncover, and simmer 7 minutes or until liquid almost evaporates, stirring occasionally.

Hope im not late try this read this .Prepare the jacket potato first oven it to 35 min.While the potato is in the oven,saute the leeks in oil and butter, put thyme herbs, put fresh cream until it boiled,put stilton cheese.and then set this aside, prepare jacket potato with cross cut on the top and some salad on the side in the plate,pour the leeks and stilton on jacket potato. or change the jacket potato to fry potato boat --fry potato boat cut the jacket potato into 1/2 scoop it in the middle not to make a hole but like a boat fry it until brown arrange it in plate then pour the leeks and stilton sauce. is it sound grate! hope it is.
