We recently purchased a beautiful stainless steel BBQ .. and we already miss our old charcoal BBQ. But .. now that we have it, how do we keep the grills clean? We have to clean it after EVERY use, which is a pain in the butt! What could make this job easier?

Clean it once a week or by the month and use a product called Greased lightning and also try a product called Bar Keepers Friend. We are able to get these products at our local Walmart and Dollar General. I especially like the product called Greased Lightning because all i have to do is spray it on Wait 30 min and use a garden hose with a watering wand attached which provides a jet of water and spray it off without having to scrub. I would not recommend using any chemical to clean a grill after every time i cooked on it.

Try using a spray-on oven cleaner.

Scrape off as much junk as you can.

Get a large (32 gallon) trash bag, put your grills inside, spray them on both sides to fully saturate them, and close the bag using a rubber band or twist tie. Leave it overnight to let the chemical do its job. Remove the grills and rinse several times with hot water.

I think you will be very pleased with the results.

To maintain them after cleaning - after cooking, close your grill's lid and turn up the heat to at least 500 F to burn off any cooking residue. Then turn off the gas and let the grill and racks cool down overnight. Next time you use them, give them a quick brushing.

And each time you grill, when the oven and racks are hot enough to cook on, wipe them down with a bit of olive oil on a cloth to keep food from sticking.

take a steel brush and scrub. then take paper towels and wipe until most of the grease comes off. build a fire and set your grills over the flame to further burn off any any grease left after wiping the grates. remove the grates and wipe again with paper towels several more times1

Oven cleaner works pretty well for the grill, spray on, wait a minute, wipe off, rinse a little (don't want to eat oven cleaner).
