In fact there is, though it's not completely fool-proof. So far, doctors know how to do surgery to repair ear drums- though scarring will make it less sensitive than it used to be. And there is a doctor working on developing a device that mimics the bones in the inner ear that transmit the sound to the brain where it gets 'translated'. In fact, this device might even be ready for experimental use: I read the article about it several years ago.

yes there is a lot that they can do with the ear today , but just what kind of surgery you are looking for ? go to a ear, nose and throat doctor and ask them. by the way a EAR,NOSE AND THROAT DOCTOR IS HOW the doctors of this field are listed since they specialize in this area only.

There are surgeries for the ear. It depends on what you want done. Theres both cosmetic and health procedures you could persue. Go to an ENT doctor for the health related ones, and a cosmetic sergeon for the cosmetic ones.
