Good question. I came upon an answer to this one night while I was reading it up about body language. It mentioned that people subconsciously find people with dilated pupils to be more friendly and attractive even if the person really wasn't so great. (Perhaps this is why people are more passionate in the evening? With the sun setting, and people's eyes dilating to see better, it might just factor into.)
Eye color plays a role in this as well. People with green and brown eyes have better chances of being considered friendly and attractive than people with blue eyes. (Sadly, I have blue eyes.) This has nothing to do with color preference, though, but I'm just telling you this as a "heads up."
Additionally, another thing I found out while reading on this subject is that you can tell if a person likes something (or even YOU for that matter) if their eyes dilate while they are looking at.

For me, color doesn't matter. What i first notice is if that guy has a soulful and intelligent look to his eyes. Does he keep good eye contact? Color is icing on the cake.

It's not way important, but for attraction, yes. Blue or Green. I'm not sure what his eye color is.

It's not so much the color of his eyes but they way they look at you! If you have those eyes that just seem to see into my soul and make me melt every time you look at me I'm yours.

to me is not the color of the eyes of this man...but more the way that this man may look at me... you see eye contact is so deep and personal and some guys can melt you by just looking at you.its something that not all guys have.

it depends on da personality and if hes tan i like a light blue but if hes not so tan a chesnut color.

no not really..i don't think so.but a tall ,dark and handsome guy with green eyes doe do the trick for me.

I like blue eyes...I think they are gorgeous and I love to look into them...
