Hey, so my gf constantly eats mcd's and other crap, and while she isnt fat, she is definitely starting to show it in the belly/legs. I tell her to eat healthy and workout, and i get the 'you think im fat?' response. The thing is, she weighed herself and apparently she lost weight?! although i can tell that she is getting bigger. I know i sound pompous, but i dont let myself go just cuz im in a relationship, and quite honestly part of why i like her so much is because of how she looks. You can call me shallow, but I don't want to be dating a bigger girl, especially if she wasnt big to begin with. So, any advice on how to try and get her to stop doing this to herself, without outright saying the scale lied?! Thanks guys!

Sorry you don't get to TELL your girlfriend anything. Either decide to live with it OR move on.

As a woman that has gained a LOT of weight during my marriage here is my advice:

Don't mention the weight or what she is eating. Make sure that the time you spend together you are active (I don't mean sexually, either) Go bowling, or for long walks, or for bike rides, or hiking.

As far as the food goes, when you go out make sure you don't go to the fast food places. If she comes to your place, make sure only healthy snacks are available.

I have analyzed my reasons for gaining a lot of weight and for what it's worth, here they are:
My husband is quite jealous. I couldn't even talk to another guy without him thinking there was something going on. Well, if I am FAT, no other guy will want me, right? (that one didn't work- he is still jealous, and now I hate myself)
I was unhappy in my marriage and food was always there for me. It made me feel better (short term)
There are more reasons, but trust me, nagging at her isn't going to help.

By the way, yes that is quite shallow of you. You know, if you marry someone that is young and beautiful, (as you would probably young and good-looking to) remember, she may gain weight- but so could you. What if you went bald (not by choice of shaving), what if you lose your teeth? When they talk about a "total package" it doesn't just refer to what you can see.

Hmm..You got a situation on your hands but to be honest I dont think there is a right way to tell her to stop eating junk. She has to want to do it for herself. Hopefully she will get tired of eating junk when her body starts to get lazy and sluggish. Thats always the first sign that someone needs to start eating healthy. Maybe you can suggest going together to see a nutritionist. It will snap you out of eating junk real quick..good luck!!

well you could suggest eating healthier foods and you shoud do it (eat) together so she doesn't think you're just calling her fat and want her to eat healthier food......like when you guys might go out pick something less fattening but still tasty and maybe that might work.....also another thing is that you guys have to talk to each other......so just sit down and chat about it...dont accuse her or anything but just talk to her about it and try to point out how it could be bad for her and your relationship....also if u really love "her" you shouldn't be too worried about her looking "fat" but then if she is really overdoing it then you just talk to her but dont be hating on her cuz she likes Junk food....who doesn't?

good luck with it

i hope she leave you when you do tell her that your a really shallow guy and liking someone for there looks is wrong because people looks will change so you need to do some thinking of your own

Here is what you say: "baby, I was thinking that we should eat healthier. I've been noticing that I've been gaining weight; but i don't want to do it by myself so can we do it together?"

Tough one. All I can say is, if it was me, I would want my bf to be honest and just tell me.
