Not seeing the expected facial responses or getting eye contact as with a seeing person, people do not realize they are getting their message across so they yell.

And, according to some of the responses above, they are just obnoxious or rude (the yellers I mean).

Better yet, why do they yell at deaf people, hello, they cannot hear...or people who speak a different language, it doesn't help them understand English any better if you yell it at them...

Oh and for the ignorant people here who believe themselves to be so perfect that they cannot show some compassion for another human being despite a disability, you are more "handicapped" than they will ever be...

Good question, have a nice day!

I've never seen someone yell at a blind person before. Or if someone did, maybe they didn't know they were blind.

If they're in the way, they're in the way, and no handicap should prevent anyone from telling them off so. People blind, deaf, in wheelchairs, et cetera constantly say they just want to be treated like "everyone else", and being yelled at is part of it.

Why not? They're blind not deaf - not that I think anyone should be yelled at.

It's goofy isn't it? People assume that just because you have one handicap you have them all. Of course folks don't do it on purpose, it's sub-conscience.

The same reason one started hitting my car with his cane because it was "in his way".

They are useless. :)
