Is this an urban legend or is it true.I heard from a friend that she saw a study about the acids in coke and how Scientists placed a steak in a bowl of coke and nothing was left but the bone in two days. If its is true can a get a link to read more.

It's also true of orange juice. Citric acid is great for breaking down proteins. I have heard it will dissolve the bone too. Calcium is no match for acid.

The coke an cola is listed on this site below. Coke heading item 2. It says : 2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of Coke and it will be gone in two days.

You decide if these guys are a valid or myth site.

Not the carbonation, but the phosphoric acid. It's not a strong acid, but it is an acid none the less. It is in most dark colas.

Nope, not true. I saw a Mythbusters' episode on the Discovery channel and they disproved this myth. You might be able to find it on mythbusters.com

Yeah... a can of coke poured into a toilet overnight will clean is up good too! It works great.. try it!

I dont know if it will dissolve, but when mixed with itallian dressing and your favorite bbq sauce it sure makes a yummy marinade.

it would take a hell of alot of soda for a small piece of steak becasue it would go flat first
