Try downloading the current device drivers from http://www.mustek.com - you may not have the correct drivers for XP

Some scanners will not work on more modern systems, they were only designed for win 95,98 etcI had the same problem .Look at the disk which( possibly )came with it and it will say " win 98 etc but not xp
