My computer displays most japanese just fine, but some things come up as gibberish. It's mostly when I'm trying to install something Japanese, like the Japanese Yahoo! Messenger. Help!

It's the install wizard for Japanese Yahoo! Messenger that comes up as gibberish. By the way, I have already downloaded the Japanese Language Support tool and I'm running XP.

OK first off are you trying to get your messenger to display the Japanese text or IE?

for IE just go to tools/ general/language/ and select all the Japanese text then it should install all the plug in and should show fine.

Some of the Japanese used on sites and such are different fonts than what most programs/computers use. For those fonts, since they're not yet installed, your computer cannot read them as anything other than "mojibake".
