I started smoking when I was 14 yrs. old & I quit when I was 20. THANK GOD ! I started because everybody I knew smoked. They were so easy to get because my parents smoked and it just felt like "Oh thats something you do when you get older" so when I hit 14 I guess I thought I was old enough. When I was 20 I relized that I wanted to live. You always hear smokers say "You have to die some how" & yes that is true, but you can suffer & smoother to death at age 50 or 60, or you can enjoy the days you are on this earth and grow old & die of natural causes. My Dad was diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmanary disease and he almost died at 59 yrs. old. He now spends everyday of his life sitting in frount of the t.v. sucking on an oxygen tube at 60 yrs. old. My uncle that never smoked & took good care of his self died at 80 yrs. old of natural causes and still worked, went fishing, & enjoyed traviling untill the day he died. Yes my dad is still alive because he quit smoking, but there is a big difference in being alive & living. I can't even began to tell you how much I HATE smoking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I've smoked off and on for about 10 years now and it's bad. I learned it by watching my parents and hanging out with some older kids in high school. It's extremely addictive and very difficult to quit. Don't smoke!

thats a good question. im not a regular smoker. i usually only smoke when im drinking. a whole pack could last me a month- depending on how much im drinking. i honestly like the taste after ive been drinking. otherwise, i guess its something in them like the nicotine that relieves stress.

Stupidity!!!!!!!!!! We all know how harmful it is, yet people seem to think it won't affect them.

If you want to use the addiction excuse...then why do people start smoking?
