Keep your skin as cool as possible and soak in a tub of cool water with Aveeno Oatmeal bath until the water is too cold - about 30 minutes or so. Antihistamines are great when you have an allergic rash, however, chickenpox is a real threat and your body needs to fight off the virus. It may not be wise to suppress your bodies natural method of destroying the chickenpox virus by taking antihistamines or corticosteroids. Follow the advice of your doctor.

If you're 24 and have the chicken pox go to the doctor. When a child gets them it's inconvenient, but they can be deadly to an adult.

You can go to the doctor and get a prescription for Atarax which you can take by mouth and this will stop the itching. You can also go to Walmart or a drug store and buy Aveeno Oatmeal bath and this is excellent for applying to your skin in the bath or you can make a paste out of it by mixing the powder with warm water and apply it to your body and this will help alot also.

use hydro-cortisone (Cort-aid is a brand name) or calamine lotion on the rash. If you can take Benadryl without falling asleep, it can also help. If it makes you tired you might want to only take it at night. Aveeno also makes an oatmeal bath that works great for any itching, just be sure to rinse the bath tub really well afterwords.

You don't.
Don't get in the tub though, that is a bad idea that lots of people suggest. Try taking a pain pill like asprin or motrin.
