I will be taking a week's holiday in Thailand, going to Phi Phi. I was hoping I could draw from other tourists or travellers' experiences.

- Where on Phi Phi did you stay?
- Which were some of the best bungalows central on the island, or which would you reccomend?
- Which activities did you do? Snorkelling? Boat trips? The kayaking?
- Could you describe your experiences and share about your trip?

Thanks in advance.

Hi

I have been there many times. It is very easy to find a bungalow in Phi Phi Island and the price will be very cheap during low season ( May -October).

Scuba diving is the very popular. The PADI course is available at any diving center on the island so just check the price and go. For those who already have a PADI license just book a day trip package with the diving center.

Sigheseeing and snorkeling : The most common type of transportation available in Koh Phi Phi remains the versatile long-tail boat. For hire practically everywhere, these taxis will take you-for a modest fee-to any of the scenic areas around the islands. Please note that the accommodation is available on Phil Phi Don island only so you may have to rent this kind of Taxi boat ( long-tail boat) to go to Phi Phi Le island for visiting the most famous Maya Beach ( where THE BEACH was filmed)

My opinion : Phi Phi Island is a must ! if you go to Phuket or Krabi.
PHi Phi island was affected by the tsunami in 2004 but many of those beaches and coral reefs remain undisturbed.

Have a good trip

I went there but to get a place right on the beach seemed to be expensive. I didn't snokel or anything because I don't like sharks, i know i know. These girls I met and shared a room with did though and they really liked it. There is some shopping to do but you can get the same stuff in Bangkok cheaper. The fresh sea food is amazing. Most of the resturants will have movies playing at certain times so you can watch them while you eat. One place had cooking classes that you could take. I stayed at a place where they did bamboo tatoos. It was called that also. It was only a very short walk to the beach and it was nice. the owner was very nice. I don't know what happened to it after the tsunami though. Every morning I would go and get a massage first that was so nice! Have fun, I am so jealous of you!

I was on a boat trip from Phucket Island to Phi Phi Island. We stopped at a few beaches and went diving. (my son saw a shark!) The diving was incredible! I can't say much about the island. We ate lunch at one spot at a tourist restaurant and also stopped at a beach to see some monkeys.
