I was born and raised in Trinidad but I now live and work in Tobago. Trinidad is quite nice for shopping and night life, the best beach is Maracas Bay and the bake and shark, is a must along with pineapple chow! You can visit the Bird Sanctuary, The Pitch Lake are all places of interest in Trinidad.

Tobago is more a "tourist destination" great beaches all ove the island, nature trails, bird watching, water sports, trip to the "little Tobago", diving, fishing, snorkelling, great restaurants, fantastic people, and the "Sunday School" is a must. Presently we are celebrating "Heritage Festival" here on the island, every night there are different activities in the villages. Tobago is alot more laid back than most of the other islands in the Caribbean. Hope this helps! If you do visit, please try Carib Beer, our curry, cerole food and Tobago's 'crab and dumplin".

Alright, I will give you the low down on Trinidad. I eh go lie to yuh. It is not the best vacation spot for tourists (gasp).

If you looking for nice beaches, alright Tobago nice. But Jamaica and Key West nicer. (Lawd, ah hope nobody pelt with a green mango). If you want people sucking up to you and making sure you have Heinz Ketchup on your table, we Trini people not on dat.

If you looking for a completely new culture and the funniest, proudest, most talented people on earth, then by all means book yuh passage. And be prepared to eat the bes' food in the world.

For homesick ex-pats it is the only place we want to be.

It's beautiful all year round. As for the crime rate, we do not go around shooting tourists, it is mainly criminals shooting criminals in their homes and neighbourhoods, you as a tourist would not be visiting those parts. So it is perfectly safe!
Spots to visit:
Trinidad - LaBrea Pitch lake, Maracas Beach, Caroni Bird Sanctuary
Tobago - Buccoo Reef, Nylon pool, Ongoing Tobago Hertiage Festival.

Are you asking me or telling me? I had a friend who was from Port-of-Spain. He and I used to talk alot. It sounds like a really fun place, but I've heard the crime rate is high.
