Old enough to be mature about it. Some tests of maturity include:
1) Not doing it becuase your bf is pushing you to do it
2) Able to discuss sex with your parents
3) Have protection againsts diseases
4) Have protection so you don't have a baby
5) Able to support your baby if something goes wrong and you become pregnant.

I prefer to think of it not in terms of age, but maturity. If you are married, you are old enough!
Most states however have a general age of consent (that is an age that the state deems 'old enough' to agree to sex) but that is typically used for statutory rape cases. In my state it's 15. I lost my virginity to rape two weeks before my 15th birthday and looking back I think 15 is way too young. My husband however was a virgin when we were married, it was the best gift I could have ever been given! It was so special, and the fact that I couldn't return the gift broke my heart. I didn't really have a choice, but waiting is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO worth it!!!!!!!!!!
Sex is something that should be kept between people who are truly in love with one another, it is something that I believe God gave us as a gift between husband and wife (people in a loving, committed relationship). So I think...know...sex at any age is too young if you are not married.
Keep yourself safe, your emotions and body have a lot to do with sex and if either of them are not completely matured you have a lot to loose in a sexual relationship. Kids often forget that it's suposed to be between people who are in love and end up hurt because the relationship doesn't last or because their body wasn't ready and it ends up causing emotional and psychological problems later on. If you are asking because you think you're ready, understand that by asking you are saying that you're not ready yet. You know when you are in love, and when the time is right. God Bless you, I'll be praying for you dear!

you don't have to be a certain age to have sex (but i'm guessing if you are younger than 13 it would be QUITE illegal on everyoned part) but your partner does. If you are under 18, you can't have sex with someone 18 or older(19 in some states like Minnesota). And vice versa. You can't have sex with someone under 18 if you are over 18.
Oh,

I'm 17 and I'VE CHOSEN TO REMAIN A VIRGIN UNTIL I GET MARRIED. Not that I'm trying to force my beliefs on you or anything. Do you know what could happen? You could get pregnant, have a little baby growing inside of you, and you're however old. You could get an STD or AIDS, no man will ever want to be with you again, and you're life would be over at however old you are now. Don't you want your first time to be with someone you love, someone who won't walk out after he got what he wanted? Guys will do shitty things to you for the rest of your life. Save that until you're happily married and you know you want to be with that person for the rest of your life.

I think that you should wait and save yourself for your wedding night because if you start having sex now you are going to open a whole new set of problems in your life and you really don't want that yet, so just wait.

You are obviously too young to be having sex if you have to ask...Wait until you are married. Virginity is something sacred and you should not just give it up to anybody. Wait until your married and are emotionally and financially ready to handle the consequences of having sex....To sum it all up WAIT.

legally in most places, over 18.
Physically, some do it in 12 (which is very bad)
Psychologically, when you are mature enough and know the consequences.
Reality, 16-40 (after watching movie 40 years old Virgin)....
