Not necessarily in the good and evil sense but giving us the abilty to be a creator. It seemed like the first moment someone or something decided to fully inhabit awareness into this creation. Adam must have been a great friend to god before this happened. Or maybe adam was god and taking the first turn in his new great virtual reality game(symbolic).
If you were a video game programmer, would you let your friends test the game first?
What about a novelist, friends first?
The big question is this, Who created the environment god and adam were in. Seems like a fractal to me. You guys know fractals right? How far does this concept go up? or go down...maybe to you?

You may have a point there. It is possible. I know where your going with Adam ate of the fruit to gain knowledge to become more like god. Did god create his environment or did Adam. I totally agree that it could have been a change in consciousness, I agree that we create our own reality in a slower version in this physical dimension than we will in the next. I believe that eventually we will evolve enough spiritually that we will be able to do many things with our minds. That is why it is so important that we learn to love unconditionally and to control our thoughts in this life because in the next dimension our thoughts will create our reality on a more instantaneous level.

I don't know that Adam was at that stage in his development yet. But I do believe that it was a change in consciousness. I have read of theories that Adam may have been symbolic for an entire soul group. I have also hear theories related to Adam being the first incarnate of Jesus and that Jesus has had many incarnations as other saviors and that is why their our so many parallels between other what most people call Pagan gods or saviors and Jesus Christ. This may very well be true. Didn't Jesus say that all people all over the world would hear the message. Maybe this was the way the message was spread. I don't know, but I won't rule anything out.

You are making a stretch to say the least. The Bible gives the account of how Adam & Eve fell into sin. There is good and evil. If you can't see the good in life, take a look around because evil manifests itself everywhere. You are concentrating on the beginning. We are nearing the end. Jesus made the way to reconcile us back to Himself.
