Yes!!! Very common, of course not enough research has been done on domestic house felines to warrant a good sound medical response to this question, however, cats commonly "love" plastic bags. It's possibly harmful to them, and it is understood that peeing anywhere outside the box, even on a fun plastic bag, is conditional behaviour. I suggest you keep plastic bags out of reach. Paper bags, big paper shopping bags, any kind of boxes will all give your cat something to do for a while. If they tire of the objects, just replace it with something else, instant fun!!

Take those plastic bags away from them. They could get themselves wound up in them and then you will have a cat being rushed to vet. I give my cats paper bags to play in. They love playing hide-and-seek in them. Seems to be a big game :) And yes, I had cats that would pee on the plastic but only if their litter box wasn't clean. I try to keep all plastic bags away from my animals.

I don't have the peeing problem. My cats like to go inside of the plastic bags and one actually got stuck and freaked out and was running thru the house with a plastic bag on her head and running into things. It was hilarious. But other than that, they like to go inside them and just sit. I don't know what it is.

My cats LOVE plastic bags. I don't know what it is. It doesn't even have to be plastic, any type of bag they try to get into. With a plastic bag, just make sure to rip the handle off. My cat got one of the handles wrapped around her neck and almost chocked.
It's totally normal, let them play.

Cats are attracted to various kinds of plastic. They also pee on vinyl. My dad had an amplifier cover get ruined that way...On the other hand, one of my cats is absolutely phobic of plastic bags. He runs away whenever I empty the garbage or come home with grocery sacks.

Cats enjoy licking plastic bags because they’re probably attracted to the rendered animal fat (this fat is also known as “tallow”) that is contained in the plastic. Some hand and face creams contain extracts of farm animals, such as collagen, and cats will occasionally lick at these. My cat eats them! It's so annoying!

My cat likes to sit on plastic bags and sometimes chase them or go inside of them. More like a toy for her.

I have a 2 year old and 4 month old also that luvvvvvvv to play, pounce, and roll on plastic bags. every time I come home from the grocery store they come running in the kitchen to see if there are plastic Wal-Mart bags thrown all over the floor. they luvvv them. It's sooooooooo cute too. my female always gets her head under one of the handles. she just can't figure out how to get out, so of course I have to help her. my 4 month old just pounces on every single one of them and he luvvvvvvs to go inside them and lay down. my cats are soooooo goofy with those bags. but, they don't pee in them. that's just gross!! =^-^=
