I hate the taste of yogurt - any kind. Even the fruity ones or the ones that are supposed to taste like desserts or chocolate. I just can't handle the taste or consistency. But I really want to eat yogurt because it is good for you and I want to get the benefits of the good baterias and calcium, etc... What can I do to make yogurt taste less like yogurt and still be as healthy (and preferably low calorie)?

I am looking for HEALTHY options...I don't want to add any sugar or anything that will add fat or a large amount of calories. Thanks!

Make a drink from it, or a very icy (numbs the taste-buds) shake, it takes away the consistency problem. And you can swallow straight down. Make sure you add something with a really compelling after-taste, perhaps lemon or grapefruit juice, I heard people mixing it with orange juice. If the sour taste doesn't agree with you, it is commonly known that sugar reduces sour tastes. And since fruit juices are sour, but in a different way, it may not be what you're looking for. Perhaps you can add artificial (or natural) essences people use to bake with, but I think if something as sweet and over the top as strawberry sirup doesn't do it for you, you just have a problem, how about turning to cottage cheese?

I wasn't a big fan of yogurt eaither until I found a brand called YoCrunch. It is a lowfat yogurt that comes with vanilla yogurt in a bottom cup and something to mix in with it in a top cup. I have tried several different ones and the one with oreo crumbs is the best. But even just the vanilla yogurt is better than any other I have ever had. Our grocery does not carry this brand but I found these in a Wal Mart grocery department. And price wise they are the same as others.

Adding granola really helps - there's even a brand of yogurt out there that has the granola right with the individual packs of yogurt. Also, try these - they're soooooooooo yummy.

I find nonfat yogurts easier to digest and taste better. You can add flavoring to them to help such as Vanilla Extract, Lemon Extract...any Extract you like the flavor of...but go easy a drop or two is sufficient.

Also...I pop mine in the freezer for a half hour and it's more the consistency of ice cream. I sometimes stir in grape nuts cereal for fiber and a nice crunch. Really can help disguise it as well.

i like to make yogurt parfaits....add your own fruit and granola, or even any kind of cereal usually works....or try a smoothie, add juice, fruit, ice, and anything else you like....there are some recipes for pancakes with yogurt in them too--they are delicious so you could try that!
