I mean both were written by people, but only one has stood the test of time, the bible. You can go back a few years and read where scientists said something was bad for you, but now they say that it is healthy. There are so many discrepancies in science, but God has always been the same. All he has ever asked was for us to have faith in him.

In one word, Faith. If they can't see it, it doesn't exsist. We believe in the Bible and Our Saviour by faith and faith alone. I can't see him, or the Father or Spirit, but I have enough faith to believe they all exsist.

Why can I copy and paste this answer into almost every question asked by a christian about science?

"Why dont christians understand science? They dont understand what a sceintific theory is, only the common usage of the word. They dont understand the meanings or concepts of hypothesis, experiment, data, or interpretation of data. Normally, this can be summed up using the word "ignorant". But, then they feel attacked. So as not to hurt their feelings, lets just say since its not in the bible, it must not be important.

In fact, maybe their fundamental failure is in not realizing that its the job of science to constantly question things, to constantly gather more evidence, and to never be satisfied with what is written in a book. You can always know more, yet christians just stop at the bible. God wrote bible, its the truth, the end. The ultimate closing of the mind."

Actually, they don't believe every word in scientific journals. They are treating the bible the same way they treat science claims.

The point of those articles is to present findings. Most of the readers are other scientists who then go out try the same experiment to see if its repeatable. If not, they make that very clear. If it is, they do a further experiment to further refine the data and/or propose alternate interpretations.

The real problem is that a lot of non-scientists (tabloid TV reporters for example) like to take that data and make overly broad and unsubstantiated claims that end up scaring a lot of people. Scientists then have to waste their time disproving this junk.

it is been my adventure that few human beings of ANY faith trust each and every be conscious actually of their cannons. Now why, pray tell, do you're saying "Christians/Catholics"? Are you especially asking Catholics, or are you no longer conscious that Catholics are a particular variety of Christian? it is a syllogism, with suggestions from the way. (All beagles are dogs, yet no longer all dogs are beagles.) i concept someone as wise as you purport to be ought to recognize a element like that. only for the record, i'm no longer an rather non secular individual, yet I dislike conceited, pedantic, self-inspired buffoons on both aspect of any situation. The Greg Lauries and Chuck Smiths of the international are not too diverse from the Carl Sagans and Bertrand Russells. you need to choose to really do a touch analyze. operating example, the bible would not say that Jonah develop into born in a whale. Crack open a grammar e book when you're at it. you've a comma splice on your very last line.

Why do you assume they "believe every word they read in a scientific magazine?" It is just basic fact that there are scientific laws that can't be disproved. A lot of them, namely carbon dating, disprove much of religion that was thought to be fact. If you believe the majority of theologists, than the Earth is roughly only 6,000 years old. That, in and of itself, is frankly impossible. There is no proof that humans coexisted with dinosaurs. If they did, why did all the dinosaurs die, but the umans lived? If a meteor hit the Earth on a scale that would kill all animal life, and the Earth was only 6,000 years old, then the ancient civilizations that we know of would have been living under a huge cloud of debris. That same huge cloud would have only disappeared in the last few centuries. I don't believe all science, but I don't question it as much as I do religion.

Science can be proved or disproved empirically. Religion requires faith which some people are just not willing to give. Your question belies that you are a religious person. If your faith is as strong as you suggest (i.e. "God has always been the same" and "All he has ever asked was for us to have faith in him"), I would ask you why you care what atheists believe? According to your belief system, which I presume is Christian dogma, atheists will be charcoal briquettes in hell anyway.

Are your beliefs so fragile that you perceive the mere presence of people in the world who don't believe as you do as some sort of threat to your ultimate ticket to heaven?

The bible did not stand the test of time. Why do Christians try to argue with fact, but believe every word in a Dr. Seuss book. Science has changed and evolved. It revises to keep up with known fact, but the bible is left behind, still disputing basic logic. God has been unchanging is his nonexistence, this you are correct on. I don't believe many parts of science, but do not still argue that the world is flat (christian logic). The bible has more contradictions to itself, fact, logic, and intelligence than all science fiction books ever.

You think the endurability of a book whose basis is "believe this or suffer eternal damnation" is testimony to its correctness? Illogical. It's proof only that the primitive mentality of man still prefers to live in caves and offer prayers to assuage the wrath of the thunder god.

Science is about discovery. The bible is about maintaining the status quo of 2600 years ago.

Please. Scientific journals are written by people who know more about the world we live in than the people that wrote the bible. or as I like to call it - the bable.
And god has never asked me anything. you christians are the ones that ask me to believe that tripe in order to further validate your beliefs. I used to be born again. then I stopped pretending.

Do you think you are performing some important ministry? May I suggest you change tactics? For example, the best witness tool is to model what God can do. In other words, drop the argument and attack approach. You are winning souls for SATAN.
