When it get's that bad, I normally get a massage. Great way to loosen up the muscles and get rid of the lactic acid build up. Not cheap so I only get them when I really need them, but works well.

Possibly you need to stretch longer prior to playing. To ease the muscle soreness, take a bath in Epsom Salts (you can purchase at drug stores) Fill tub with warm water adding Epsom Salts and soak for about 15 minutes, It really does help after a strenuous work out.. Also do you stretch after you complete the soccer game?

A long soak in a hot bath. I ususally add a little lavender and chamomile bath oil or bath salts. Very relaxing. My legs get sore from dancing (bellydancing) and I usually massage them a bit while I'm in the bath. Always works for me and it's better than those stinky creams and rubs.

i have fibromyalgia so i get those pains a lot... and i really like Icy/Hot. You can get patches, cream or gel. I suggest that you put the cream or gel in your refrigerator. Works even better. Hope this helps.
