Its really not good to lie about anything unless maybe your protecting someone from being hurt, and even then lies always eventually come out. I use to not take meds so I would get sicker so people and family would rally around me.. Its taken alot of therapy to realize I need to be my own best friend, and then people will want be around me.. People can spot needy people a mile away..I think that they really need therapy and to work on self esteem. make a goal list every day, keep the goals attainable.. like don't say your goal is to walk 10 miles everyday but say like your goal is to walk 5 minutes a day.. you get the idea but if you start doing that you will find your self esteem will go up..

sounds like she has major problems, probably lack of attention at home/family. if she is acting desperate, but lies to you and ur friends, she obviously knows that what she is doing is not "good". as her friend, perhaps u could try to sit her down and talk to her, find out why she does those things, and that it's bad for her rep. no one believes what she says, and everyone will end up thinking she's desperate, a slut or worse. what she really needs is to accept herself, and to improve herself. if she lacks confidence, encourage her to work on her appearance, her knowledge (study harder, read, read the news, etc), join some clubs/groups, emphasis the importance of being able to socialize w/ girls and guys and maintain good relationships (lying is not conducive to maintaining a good relationship), and as she works on her self esteem, hopefully she will learn that she is a Woman, and a good person who Deserves a good man; therefore she won't be so "easy" and throw herself at guys; she wants to be able to attract good men and have her pick. so try to encourage her to work on herself first, and then she'll see that she can get positive attention from great guys w/o being a liar.

OK, I can see the "TLC" part cause sometimes girls seem to just need a shoulder.
But why not just keep it at that?
The rest seems to be an elaboration of the TLC thing.
Remember this: S.R.S.......
Keep it Simple, keep it Righteous, keep it Sincere.

Yes, its wrong to lie so people will feel sorry for you. Its wrong to want people to feel sorry for you. I hope your friend can learn to lover herself some day and maybe learn that there are other positive attentions she can receive and pitty is not one of them.

Yes it is. It's wrong to lie for any reason. Didn't you ever read Peter And The Wolf?

It is morally wrong to lie, except in cases where not lying to someone will actually cause THEM more harm than lying. Your friend is selfish and immoral; if you are wise, you will limit your interactions with her.

When is it ever right to lie to people, no matter what the circumstances? Do you really want to be associated with a liar?
