Alright, I am not a person who still has all of my parents, or is still living with them. My father passed away this year in february, but he was already not in my life, because the last time I saw him I was 7 years old, my mother on the other hand, I was only with her for about 9 years of my life, so I basically raised myself, she was always heavily medicated so she was not there mentally either. So I know what it is like to not have parents around, I went house to house living with this person and that persoanl; never longer than 6 months. So I have had my ups and downs. So what helps me when ever I am depressed is I try to look at think in a bright view, and make it seem funny, and act crazy, but not literally, I try to turn everything dirty, so far it works, and I take everything as a grain of salt. Also what I put my energy into is helping others. So now I am studying to become a doctor, and I really enjoy it. When you do positive things, positive things happen to you, but you also have to maintain a positive mind. Because when you think negative, there are always negative things happening. Trust me on this, try it for awhile, and also try staying busy, if you do that then you won't have time to thinka bout the bad things, Try learning a profession that you might like, it will make things a whole lot better, trust me on this, I learned this from persoanl exp. So I hope that my info helps, just try it for awhile, no matter what there are always people out there who are willing to help.

It sounds like you've had a hard life. When I'm feeling low, I always try to focus on my goals in life and even attempt to make new ones. Do you have a degree? You could go back to school if you don't. Get financial aid and don't worry about working for a while. It will be worth it, trust me. Don't drown yourself in your sorrows - I've found out that's the worst thing to do. Stay away from drugs and alcohol. Just try to be happy that you're alive! Do something fun! For example, I'm in college right now and I'm broke. But I've taken a loan out to help pay for my education and bills. With the leftover money, I've decided to spend a month studying abroad in Costa Rica next summer to help me learn Spanish. See? Now I have something to look forward to. I hope things get better for you. You're not alone.

Hey, that sure is a tough story but if it makes you feel any better, we are all depressed in some shape or form. Some get it big whereas others get it small but we all get.
For me personally, its exercise. Hormones are released which fortunately make you happy!
Secondly, i hate to say it, but compare yourself to people who literally have nothing. I don' know where you live so I don't know your customs. But in certain areas people are close to being deprived of their 'lives'. Look at them and then look at your life. Can you see a difference?
Think of life as a mountains: To get to the peaks, its hard, tough, and tiring and even when we get there, we stay there for only short periods of time but still must motivate ourselves to get to another.
I honestly do hope that things get better for you.
It will happen, maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow or maybe not in two years but it will happen.
