i am having a continuous arguement with my ex about what the term "going on a break" and "breaking up" mean. he told me that we should go on break, but didn't understand what that meant. about a week later, i told him that i was breaking up with him. He swears up and down that he already did and said that when he announced "the break". could you please tell me what you think the difference between these terms mean?

I like what ask n answer said ^ . first thing is that you should never ask other girls for advice in dealing with doodz they don't know any more than you if he announced it, then he announced it, but if you guys had the option to get back together that doesn't mean you were still together after he announced the brake.

ask n answer seems like he knows whatsup, go with his answer
(none of the females understand anything more than you about guys...)

On a break is like, I still want it to work but we need time apart to realize what each other means and after a couple of weeks or even a month, maybe even seeing new people, you try to make it work again.

Breaking up, its over, have a nice life.

Going on a break is just spending time apart but not seeing other people.

Breaking up is ending the relationship for good.

Break is more of a you need time to think and be by yourself and then you would give it another try when things calmed down. Breaking up is well, you need space and you probably wont give it another chance.

going on a break means- to take time apart from each other and think things over. to have time for yourself and to think if you really want to work things out and return to the relationship to make it work or if you think its over.
breaking up means- its over nothing to worry about abut the other person. theres no need to try and work things out but maybe a friendship.
what i think about this is that your boyfriend is stupid and he wants to say he broke up with you when it was you that broke up with him. he just wants to brag to his friends thats all

going on a break i think means giving some space between you and your partner so it gives you time to work things out alone........where as breaking up means you are officially not together anymore........
