A while back I posed a silly question about pubic hair (I just asked who else can braid theirs, as a joke, since it is so shamelessly and openly thrown all over the media (here as well) what we should and shouldn't do with our private body functions, for which I say; let there be taboos, please) and got the administrators all over me for being offensive, I think I was not. I get offended if you let me watch a tampon-commercial, or a televised birth, and no-one cares, but when I make a silly non-personal remark with no insults what so ever, they get offended. But tv tells us women smell and we grow disgusting things such as body hair that should be removed; how much more offensive does it get? I think a question about braiding it doesn't. If you let me know, you can let the administrators know as well, since I'll probably get kicked out of Q&A now.

You should have put it in the Style section.
(I saw one there.)

The most likely explaination to me is that the administrator is bald down south so he took ur question personally. If that is offensive then how do u count racist remarks in yahoo questions or these two I came across on here " i'm a 43 year old men would like to ask advice on how i can score w/ a little girl " / " i need advice on how i can score w/ a virgin " <--- i find the last 2 very offensive almost like provoking a sex crime.

Part of the issue may be that it was felt minors shouldn't read a discussion about pubic hair (and the comments that might have followed your post). Remember there are a lot of kids here, a LOT of people, and a fair number of them have no problem posting inappropriate, using profanity, posting obscene comments etc...a lot of it gets by the Moderators here though because there's just SO MUCH posted all the time (which is why they have the feature for members to 'report abuse').
The topic you mention sounds harmless enough, if somewhat silly...but I guess the line is fuzzy for Yahoo! re: when it's okay to talk about anything remotely sexual and when it's not...I suppose for legal and business reasons, they'd rather err on the side of caution.

I'm a real joker and a writer as well. I'm constantly screwing around, cracking jokes at the world around me. Sometimes what is funny to me is NOT funny to other people and it's offensive to them but I still have the right to speak my mind and say whatever I choose, within reason and the law. Just use discretion in spewing jokes. Try going for harmless, objective topics to laugh about, such as the coffee craze or how slow baseball REALLY is. Bodily functions are funny to US but not to everyone, so showing consideration for present company makes for good humor all around. Or maybe they're just prudes!

Offensive it's not! But if you had the administrators telling you that it means that quite a few people reported you. People from several cultures visit this site and they may not have the same views you do and that is perfectly normal.
Although you have to admit, there can't be any public interest in braiding your pubic hair! lol

honestly, it sounds like YOURE the one thats way too sensitive. try to be a little bit more laid back. i know youre really not stupid enough to not understand why the administrators are offended by your question. youre not an advirtising company, just a bored, immature kid. so i agree with the administrators on this one, since you dont have quite the credibility as companies who sell razors and tampons. think again and dont be so self-righteous.

Well, if it was really like that, I don't think it's offensive at all. I probably wouldn't have answered it, but I wouldn't have reported you, either.
Maybe you can gauge attitudes in a less blatantly silly way, asking questions like "Do you think women need deodorants for their private areas?"

it maybe the way you say it that makes it offensive because there are topics which are even more sensitive but when ask with tact and intelligence will never be offensive at all.
