Would mild binge eating and puking ,cause constipation?
When i say mild i mean some times its a binge mostly its guilt over eating the odd cake or choc bar, sometimes i eat them with the plan to chuck up.
I Recently lost two and 3/4 Stone -i was depressed and not eating much, and then started a really healthy eating regime, but i didnt eat lots, mostly skipped dinner-not hungry in the eves.
Im a very black and white person-all or nothing so no treats,no junk, sugar, barely any carbs, just a very simple diet of oats ,fish, salad, veggies, fruit ,seeds and nuts now and again-basically natural stuff.
Then if anything remotely bad entered me i would throw up-even pasta -toast but its not regular,i know its not good for you
Recently im tempted to have a good binge -i read on the net if you do it in 5 mins and puke you dont put weight on,it is becoming more often,i think three times a week in the last couple of weeks but still i dont worry,i hate having a bunged up tum though,i use laxatives

Sounds as though you are using the eating as a control thing more than anything else. It is another form of self harm, been there done that and got the t-shirt, be it self mutilating, alcohol binge eating and throwing up. It is very black and white thinking over the diet but the binge and throwing up is about control.
I answered another question the other day for you. I don't have my e-mail address up as I want some control over who contacts me. I am giving you it as you seem to want to chat about BPD last time.

Please seek help, life can be so much better as corny as it sounds. I've gone through this, and here are some tips I used to not binge. Maybe it will help you.
When you feel an eating binge coming on, try to get out of the room where the food is and try to get your mind on another thing. Try playing a word or numbers game - like Soduko. [They have tons of free Sudoko games online and they are addictive!]. You could also try watching a movie that you KNOW will keep your mind involved [this can be hard] or calling up a friend and chatting or even going out.
You can also drink a LARGE cup of ice water. This will fill your stomach up and try and help your body remember that it is not hungry.
If you are very, very disciplined, when you feel a binge coming on, try to have just a tiny, tiny bit of whatever it is you really want. For instance, if you want to eat an entire package of Oreos eat JUST ONE. Denying the urges can sometimes make the desire to binge happen less frequently, but it can also be very hard to stop eating once you have started.
Above all else, do NOT get down on yourself when you binge happens. Making yourself feel depressed or otherwise low can actually make you want to eat more. Remind yourself that you are a very important person and you do not need this food. If you feel like you don't care, remind yourself how special and unique you are. It sounds corny, but it can really help.
I really hope at least some of this helped. Good luck and please be careful.

Let me start by saying that I went through a similar experience that lasted over four years. The eating habits that you are describeing could be causing your constipation. The best way to lose weight and keep it off is to eat healthy meals and exercise (but not obsessively). The throwing up meathod causes many long term problems not to mention that it can put your body in starvation mode. When this happens, your body begins to use your muscles, instead of your fat, to turn into the energy that your body needs to function. This slows down your metabolism, eats away your muscles, and makes it even harder to lose weight.
Let me also add that I was hospitalized for my eating disorder when I was 13 years old and they made me go to a support group once a week in the hospital. I was the only one in this group under the age of 25. When I joined, the group was dealing with the recent death of one of the members. This person had been so determined to lose 5 more pounds and, possibly due to the malnurishment, didn't even care that she had to die to do it. They put in a feeding tube which was connected to liquid supplements. She dumped the supplements and filled the cans up with water. Her body had nothing left to live off of.
Try to find a support group for eating disorders if you can. Or at least get on a healthy diet without throwing up. When you feel guilty about something you ate, go for a jog around the block. Good luck to you.
This is the 1st of the Twelve Steps for eating disorders
We admitted we were powerless over food, that our lives had become unmanagable.

Do you realize what you are doing to yourself? Bingeing and purgiing are the worst thing you could do. Not only will you become adicted to it, you run the risk of damaging your throat. If you don't like feeling full, try eating several small meals spaced out during the day. Drink a lot of water, that will help keep you regular. Your basic diet sounds good, but skipping meals messes you up as well. Laxatives ONLY if you get really backed up. You can become dependant on them and you won't be able to go normally. Exercise regularly. Walk, ride a bike, dance. That helps burn calories. If you do have an odd snack it will not affect your weight. You will not lose weight but muscle mass if you keep this up. Losing muscle is bad. Just eat normal portions and you will be fine.

I am going to be honest with you you are suffering control issues and obviously do have anorexia and bullemia you are in denial about and need serious intervention and help for from a psychiatrist iam actually rather disgusted that your counsellor or doctor has not picked this up if you are as honest as you say to them. you also need a good psychotherapist to discuss past issues in your life which have caused you this erratic contol behaviour and addictions to alcohol and food. if you continue to abuse laxatives and vomit you will destroy your stomach lining and bowel control and you will tear the back of your throat the lack of food is something that causes depression in itself and constipation as you have nothing inside you to poo out or to give you energy the anorexia will stop your menstral cycle and ruin your mental stability/health. you need to seak urgently to your doctor and explain what is tuly going on and find someone you trust not someone who is easy to get round.

You probably just need LOTS more fluids. There's a good yogurt here in the states called Activa......it helps you go. Good luck, and watch the puking--that can really mess you up.
Sounds like you need a smidge of counselling, but you'll be OK!

I think you know, from looking at the category you chose to post your question in, that you are unwell. You have an eating disorder. Get some help. It can be beaten, and you can get your life back.

child I do not know what to tell you other than the fact that you must know that eating pastas and other foods that you consider unhealthy are still more healthy than sticking your finger down your throat to chuck it up, you have to know this deep down inside, you need to go see a doctor and seek some professional help, seriously if you keep this up it can kill you
