To be born again comes from the bible. It means to be Born a second time. The first time you are born it is physically. The bible calls this being born of water and blood. Water coming from the female, blood from the male (Sperm carries the seed).
The second time you can become born of the spirit of God. The gift he gave on the day of Pentecost. The power Jesus Christ came to make available and the everlasting life promised.
It is to have Christ in you. You become a son or daughter of God and are heaven bound and all hell can't stop you. And you become free of the judgement.
To get there you act on Romans 10:9 and 10. You confess Jesus as Lord (people say confess sins, the bible says confess the saviour from sin. You decide who's right but just be sure to do what God says). And you believe in your heart that God raised Jesus Christ from the dead and that's it. No special ceremonies, no confession boxes, no fuss no bother.
God made it available so that even the simplest person could understand and do it, any time and any place they choose.

When someone is born into a Christian family with Christian beliefs, falls away from those beliefs (for whatever reason), and then accepts Christ again at some point, they are said to be "born again". All you have to do to be born again is accept Christ into your heart. However, if you never lost your faith to begin with, being born the first time is good enough.

Here is what Jesus said:
4 "How can anyone be born when they are old?" Nicodemus asked. "Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother's womb to be born!"
5 Jesus answered, "Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit. 6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit [b] gives birth to spirit. 7 You should not be surprised at my saying, 'You [c] must be born again.' 8 The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit." [d]
Being born of the water is the sacrament of Baptism and the Spirit would be the Sacrament of Confirmation or being Baptized in the Holy Spirit. Seek a local Christian Church and they can walk you through the steps.

Born again means that you have believed enough about what the bible says about Jesus that that believe leads you to repent (change how you think) and accept the work Christ did on the cross as sufficient for your salvation. If you get to this point-you will be a very different person. You will become aware of sin in your life and you will change into a new person=you will be born again.

Born again christian is actually a person who was a christain then turned back. To become a christian you have to love god and is ready to do his will. Thats showing love, kindness and forgiveness ( the forgiveness that forgets). being a christian is not easy because you will undergo so much stress and pressure but god will be there all the way to guide you and give you solutions and he always finds a way.

It means that before you were a Christian you were dead because you were property of sin, you were condemned to eternal death. Once you repent and accept Jesus as your personal savior, you don't belog to sin anymore because Christ has redeemed you. Now you belong to God, your sins have been paid for (which does not mean that you are not a sinner anymore, we all are, except Jesus). When that happens, the Spirit enters you and you become a new person, one that knows the love of God, one that is God's child and that wants a relationship with his/her creator, one that does not belong to sin anymore. And that is what they mean to be born again, and this time you are His and have gained eternal life.
The way to be born again is to repent from your sins, and acknowledge in your heart and with your mouth that Jesus Christ came to this world because He loves you so much that He wanted to give His life for your sins, because since God is just, sins have to be paid for, no debt remains unpaid, but Christ decided to pay that debt for you. Once you do that, you'll experience a profound change in your life, that can only come from knowing God's perfect love, and you will be born again.
Read the Bible and you will understand better what I'm saying.
Thank you for asking!! God bless you.

"Born Again" is a Western Protestant concept. It means you have to be an adult and choose to become Christian.
In the liturgical Western Churches and Orthodox Christian tradition, a child is baptized as a Christian as an infant and becomes a part of the Church as an adult in a Confirmation ceremony.
But I tend to think the Orthodox tradition is more historically valid

According to the church, a "born again Christian" is someone who has accepted Jesus Christ as his/her savior and the only way to God. To become one, you just have to say "the prayer". But ask yourself, do you really think that an all-powerful and all-loving God would restrict access to heaven to all of those poor shmucks out there that have never heard or Jesus before they met an unfortunate end?

A 'born again' Christian is simply some one who believes in Christ. Now there's all kinds of complexities but that's the basic. I'm one; it's impossible to be one and then not be one, or so the Bible says.

Being born again refers to starting over with new life following Christ. You are basically saying that you will leave your sinful life behind you and instead, live to please God. All you have to do is believe in Christ and what he has done for you. Then talk to someone who is a Christian about what that means. You don't need an altar call or a specific prayer.
