Maybe you asked the wrong questions in Spanish. Try some topics about women, food or President Bush in Spanish.
You'd get answers by the bus-loads.

I develop Spanish interfaces for databases and the demand for them is decreasing. English is what all of their children are using. So maybe you are trying to talk to the wrong audience,
