For one, the Bible is written by man, every word of it given to him by God. And psychics ARE in the Bible, referred to as "mediums" and always described as having or possessing an evil spirit. I believe that some psychics can actually see the future or know things that have happened because there are demons who show them. That is why I believe that we should steer clear of them.

Actually the bible does say to avoid "peeping wizards" But mostly, I think this belief isn't so much from any specific verse as it is based on the fact that Christians believe in a dichotomy of supernatural powers and forces in the Universe. To a Christian, it's either God or Satan...and since psychics don't claim to get their power from God, they just assume it's the other source. Of course this gets all muddled because there are lots of folks out there claiming to use the power of God that really aren't - and well...it can get pretty messy.

Psychics fall into two categories: fakes, and those with spiritual gifts who are misusing them. God granted each of His children spiritual gifts as in 1 Corinthians 12:1-11. The Bible was physically written by man, yes, but the words are from God.

but psychics are talked about in the bible.
Deutronomy 18:10 There should not be found in you anyonewho makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, anyone who employs divination, a practicer of magic or anyone who looks for omens or a sorcerer, 11 or on who binds others with a spell or anyone who consults a spirit medium or a professional foreteller of events or anyone who inquires of the dead. 12 For everybody doing these things is something detestable to Jehovah, and on account of these detestable things Jehovah your God is driving them away from before you.
The reasoning is.. the psychics are gettting their information from somewhere and it definetly isn't God. He doesnt' work that way. So the only place that they can get their information is from angels who have gone against God's will, or Demons.
So do you really want to associate with Demons, or people who often invite them into their home?

psychics are seeing the "probable" future. we always have the power to change the future if we don't like what we see. the ancient Jews condemned anyone that wasn't like them because many of the stories were written while they were enslaved or taken captive by others. they needed these "we're right, they're wrong" viewpoints to teach their people to continue to have faith and stay righteous. unfortunately some christians don't understand that. that's what happens when you read stuff taken out of context from another culture, another geographic area, another time period, and another language, filtered even further through imperialism. metaphors get taken literally, meanings get lost.
"there is no good or bad but thinking makes it so"

the Bible is the inspired Word of God, written physically by man, but through and by the Holy Spirit.
and to answer your question:
it's not "everything that isn't in the Bible is evil". It's hard to find anything that is NOT in the Bible. There is everything from psychics to mentions of people thinking Paul and his friend were Zeus and Hermes to people being eaten by dogs and driving stakes through peoples heads. personal pains like domestic abuse, romantic soul-mates, platonic soul-mates. . .everything is in there either specifically or generally. the Bible isn't a bunch of "ladeda! let's frolic through the flowers."
it mentions and speaks of and addresses every pain, evil, good thing, and joy. that in itself proves that it is not merely "written by man".
psychics are ungodly because the Bible says to not partake in divination and such. Why? Because it's demons revealing things to those people (whether the psychics know it or not - and i believe a lot of them don't know it).

Why do you have to jump from asking a legitimate question to insulting others' beliefs?
To answer the legitimate part of your question, I don't think psychics in general are evil--just a lot rarer than they claim to be. I think people are just tired of being conned.
And psychics were in the Bible--they were called prophets if they're honest and mediums if they're not.

I would like to think even Christians don't believe everything not in the Bible is evil. Technically, computers aren't in the Bible. Yet, you see Christians using them.
For psychics, they likely believe the non-Christian ones are getting visions from Satan or whatever.

I believe those who lie for their own benefit are evil. Psychics are all fake, if anyone new the future they would be rich and powerful beyond measure. The phonies we see are practicing techniques called mental ism. Which is a form of magic.
So if you want to have their fake abilities to go to the library and get a book. Read and study their techniques and you to can be a "psychic"

Psychics aren't evil just guessing and using sense's of knowing to convince people that they know what they know in order to get paid. There are many different bibles just as there are many different religions and languages I believe in everyone just right to believe in there religion to the utmost and with the greatest respect because at the end of the book each and everyone your suppose to be taught about GOD but its not that simple because each man that represents his religion believe his is the supreme religion that will get him and his people to GOD on judgment day and that's where the problem lies. If everyone could just get along and respect each others religion and know that one day with belief you'll get where ever it is you wanna go at the end of one lifetime. GOD BLESS
