That is typically the way it works but ultimately the bride and grooms decision. At my wedding, the groomsmen's accessories matched. At my friend's wedding, he opted for football themed ties and vests instead.

That is completely up to the bride and groom. In our wedding our groomsman matched the bridesmaids but the best man, and the groom did not match the maid-of-honor. You don't really notice. For a more formal wedding some use black ties so it looks really formal. To me I like the colors. If your colors are yellow or pink the guys are probably not going to want those color ties. Congrats on your upcoming wedding, I wish you all the best.

Just for the sake of the pictures, they should match up. When my sister's best friend got married, the girls were in Navy Blue and the guys all wore vests that were navy blue and grey patterned. That way it all matched in the pictures. Oh, and I would suggest that you decide the colour (if you're the bride) because otherwise the guys might show up in lime green or something.

Most people prefer that the cumerbun or the vest (which ever you go with) and sometimes the tie should match the girls dresses. However not everyone does this, it is really your preferance.

The men who are acting as groomsmen do not have to wear a matching tie and cumberbund (one of my groomsmen did not - he wore the tux that he owned rather than renting). Sometimes it makes a nice picture if the men's tie and cumberbunds match the dress of the bridesmaids they are matched with.

They don't *have* to wear anything. No wedding police are going to arrest them if they don't match.
However, it is normal for the vests/ties/cummerbunds to match or at least coordinate with the dresses of the Bridesmaids.

They wear whatever you want them to wear. It doesn't necessarily have to be the same color as the bridesmaids, but it should coordinate with it. For example, I had raspberry colored bridesmaid dresses and the guys wore silver ties and vests....

They can wear whatever they want! At my wedding, all the groomsmen wore Guyaberas, which are called Mexican wedding shirts (although they originated in cuba) Very casual, and we got lots of compliments!
Congrats if it is your wedding!

Depends on what you want and what they would be comfortable in. When I was thinking about choosing pink the guys made it very clear that they didn't want to wear pink so I was either going to put them in silver or black. Its up to the couple!

It is all up to you. I had my husband pick out all of that stuff. Just as long as the color he picked went along with the bridemaids dresses. It gave him a chance to be involved in some of the planning too. After all it isn't just your day it is his too!
