Well this is more of a statement than an answer.
These programs such as adopting a soldier make a great difference. It helped me get through these tough times deployed. It always nice to have a little bit of home. There were times when I was ready to quit and recieved something as simple as a letter from a stranger that kept me going. There were times when I couldnt look at army food without wanting to ralph, and busted open a box and jumped around like it was xmas over a pudding cup and some beef jerky. It is a great moral booster.
The coolest thing that happened to me was when i got adopted by a girl scout troop. they went from door to door selling cookies. They woulkd ask if anyone would like to buy a box, if they said yes or no they would then like to buy a box to send to a soldier. Well needless to say i ended up with about 40 boxes each containing about 20 boxes of cookies. I then distributed them to my fellow soldiers. Talk about some good kids.
I owe my continued existance to people like you. If it wasnt for knowing that there are people like you out there it wouldnt be worth it. Thank you all and god bless!

I was a soldier overseas once, and the boxes that come are great. You find cookies and deodorant, as wells a ton of other things you need. Do you think troops have the great things we have in the states like Oreo's? They do but they are controlled, so the packages are a great thing in comparison to the MRE's.
I like to help and I send some packages to friends in the military, it costs a little money and it makes me feel good.
The only problem I have with it is the fact that you cant get care packages to everyone. The Special Forces who operate on their own are cut off. They get no special packages. However the troops trying to be police get lots of packages and thats good.
Who wouldnt want to help? these people are there to support the nation, and the least a person can do is spend 30 dollars to buy something for them. Its a thankless job, but the extra stuff is very great.

Yes, I would help provide whatever I could to make their life a little easier while overseas. Why? Because I would rather them be fighting overseas than here in the US. If the US hadn't stepped in I have no doubt that we would be besieged with terrorist attacks here.

our soldiers know they are'nt forgotten.I respect & love them. I

As a liberal, I will never help a U.S. soldier! Unless it is to help the barbaric POS die like he/she deserves!
