If he is going through all of his doctors' checkups with flying colors; you don't have anything to worry about. Toddlers are beginning to become more independent, and even more self-centered. They have very little control over what goes on in their little lives, and they quickly learn that if they fight with you over eating, you will "freak out" and he will get all kinds of attention. Children will not let themselves starve. Make sure you are not allowing him to fill up on too much juice or snacks. Check with your pediatrician to see what the amounts are he should be consuming. I cannot give you correct amounts, without knowing more about his activity level and everyday occurances. Make sure that he is getting enough to drink, your doc can help you out with that one also. All children will go through phases where they could care less about eatting. If he feels "forced" the stubborn toddler will kick in and he won't eat on purpose. They begun to quickly learn how to be very stubborn, this is the only sense of control they have over their own lives. If the only thing he will eat is a slice of bread, or dry cereal just stick with that for now, you may want to add in a toddler multi-vitamin. If he likes these, they could be the "treat" after he eats the breakfast item. You can also see if he will "help" you make breakfast, or any meal actually. Show him how to mix up an egg, and let him pour it into the cold pan with help of course. He will love to help. Don't give up, don't get frustrated...you have to be the parent and basically work your way around this. Good luck to you and hugs to your little guy too! Have a good day!!!!

Kids go through picky stages. The doctor told me this about my twins that are 4....they will eat when they get hungry. Don't stress too much over. Cut out all cups, sometimes if they drink too much, they won't be hungry. Try to find things he will eat, but don't cook him something special...give him what everyone else is eating in the house. For breakfast try things like dry ceral, pop tarts, oatmeal.....surely there is something he will eat. Like the doctor said..he will eat when he gets hungry...its just a toddler stage he is going through. My 4 year olds went through a stage where all they wanted to eat was bread...bread for every meal and nothing else. They finally out grew it.

Some ideas for breakfast are scrambled eggs and toast with jelly, french toast sticks, waffles, pancakes, cereal, and oatmeal. Or my sitter's kids sometimes have yogurt and some fruit, like bananas. Even if he will just snack on some dry cereal, my child likes Trix, that is some nutrition and not so much of a sit-down meal.

3 MEALS a DAY!!!! Mothers say their kids won't eat but if you are honest, how many snacks and junk does he eat? No snacks no sweets except after a meal and only if he eats said meal. He will not starve if he doesn't eat breakfast, but he will eat it if he knows there will be nothing to eat until lunch. Be strong because at first there well be tantrums and begging. If you stick to the new rules he will come around in days, but you can't give in NOT ONCE!!!

Yes, my son went through a phase for about a month at 13 months where he would eat very little, didn't want any of his favorites, and basically would only eat apples and cheese. It drove my wife nuts. But, as long as he's not losing weight then it's okay. He's probably between growth spurts and is working off his baby fat!

No, fruit does not meet all of her nutritional needs. vegetables are rich in diet A, iron, calcium, and a slew of B supplementations. end result are specially rich in diet C and diet A. vegetables are a needed area of a balanced nutrition regimen. If she's suffering eating vegetables evaluate the form to sneak them into her nutrition briefly or a diet complement.
