Depends on the cake mix. Usually they make two layers of a 8" round cake, but they will vary. Check the back of the box, and it will tell you exactly what size tin it makes.

Yes...it will make 2 8 inch round cakes or 2 square 8 inch cakes....I like to use whipped cream (coolwhip) in between the layers instead of frosing....that leaves more for the tops and sides and gives a little bonus surprise in the middle.

yes, the round one
it usually tells you on the back of the box what it can make, like one 9 x 13 cake, two round cakes for a layered one, and a certain number of cupcakes

Yes. Cook the mix as directed for a round cake pan. When it cools- use dental floss to cut the cake into layers.

sure... in simple terms divide the arranged cake blend into 2 around pans... be sure you the two coat the pans with butter and then gently sprinkle flour or spray the pans with Pam to circumvent the cake from sticking to the pans once you unload the baked cake out. as quickly as the brownies have thoroughly cooled... frost the backside layer top basically, then place the 2d cake on top of that and frost the facets, then final frost the properly suited of the cake. I certainly have got here across while you're using the can frostings you will desire 2 cans for a layer cake...in any different case the frosting would be skimpy in places and not look to stable!

Yes. If there's a picture of two layers on the package it was meant to make two 8" or 9" layers.
