I am about to start my junior year, and the joining the Air Force is one of my career choices. Would I be able to take the ASVAB at the end of my junior year, and do the delayed entry deal?

This is a question you should go ask your local recruiter. The regulations that govern the military are constently changing. I however did exactly what you are wanting to do. I joined the USAF as a junior in high school under the delayed entry program. I ended up serving 14 years and earned the rank of Major before getting out. Go talk to the recruiter and get find out. He is probably the only one who will know all the answers.

Yes you can take the ASVAB during your junior year. You can even go to basic training between your junior and senior year, and be on reserve position or national guard. When you graduate, you will then go on active duty status if you so choose. Contact a recruiter. They will jump on ya like a pack of dogs on a 3 legged cat.

Normally I'd tell you yes, but the AF guys I work with here at STRATCOM are saying as of now probably not since the AF is getting ready to trim it's numbers of personel. They're saying that your best bet would be to talk to your recruiter and find out what areas (MOS's) will most likely be effected.

I had had did that, make sure you sign papers in Oct, because if you sign them them in June, July or Aug, you will leave for basic right after gradation. You would want a couple of days after the ceremony to chill. and relax before shipping out.
