I don't think it's a racial issue. We have always allowed immigrants to come here but through appropriate legal channels. The Mexican problem stems from a lot of things...bad economy down there mainly. I personally don't have a problem with someone coming here to make a better life for themselves, but I do think a lot of Americans believe they should learn our language and our laws. I tend to think that too. My grandparents immigrated from Poland and they had to learn English and American laws.

Issues like this bring out all the idiots...and idiots have opinions based on their ignorance not on FACTS.
Most people don't realize that the majority of illegals in this country are coming from Asia, not Mexico. Most don't know that the majority of illegals from Mexico came 15-20 years ago and have assimilated into our culture, hold jobs, are raising their families and are law abiding hardworking people.
I taught many people from different countries and I can say that I could care less if they were illegals because I know that there are many people escaping from horrible conditions; political, religious and economic hardships we can't imagine being Americans. Many of these folks take jobs Americans wouldn't do, so they are not "taking our jobs".
Many Americans ancestors didn't come in legally, yet they are the ones who are bad mouthing illegals today. We should ship out all the ignorant Americans flapping their big mouths about "ship out the illegals"...they are the biggest problem; racist, uneducated, idiots who have taken this issue and made it their own.

The immigration laws are for ALL people entering into the country, including your parents, my parents, etc. Don't let this answer be your guide, so to speak. Any person illegally entering this country and living in it without following the prescribed legal method is wrong. The person who answered that question is racist, but the law is not. Racism will exist no matter what, unfortunately.

Its not a issue of race. Back in the day immigrants wanted to make the country better they were skilled labor not unskilled. They did not send most of their money to Mexico every week. Don't tell me this doesn't happen I live in Houston I seem them on the corners looking for work then I see them in the grocery store wiring the money home. We are not here to support the failed Mexican economy.

If any immigrants come legally I have no issue with it. If they jump a fence I have a problem with it. I am an American citizen, if I break the law I go to jail. If I would go to some other country illegally they would likely throw me in jail.

I doubt if your parents were a burden to the economy like Mexican immigrants. They have way too many kids, go on welfare, burden our schools, get free medical care and all this is dragging down our way of life in America. There is too much illegal Mexican immigration. We need to send some of them back.....)(

To me race has not a thing to do with it at all. Its the point of bieng illegal, no matter if your from Ireland, Mexico, Africa or any where else. Its called breaking the law and that is it. So to me you could be any color from any country.

I don't think it's race, as much as it's class (social status) and behavior. People would much rather have a relatively rich illegal (maybe their visa ran out or someting), than a poor one, since the poor ones tend to do drugs, violence, etc. more than rich/middle class ones.
But also, we don't want criminals, whether they're drug dealers or terrorists, and those come from all races and backgrounds, unfortuantely.

For me, immigration is not a racial issue. It is a "pay taxes while you are living here" issue. I don't care what country you come from, don't go around our system of taxation. I have to pay more because of it.
