Some people follow/worship the devil/Satan because they would rather believe a lie than the truth.
Why people refuse to believe!

Read Romans 1:21 in The Holy bible: "Because, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful, but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish hearts were darkened." Peoples hearts are darkened and blinded by Satan. II Corinthians 4:3-4. "But if our gospel be hidden it is hidden to them that are lost, In whom the god (Satan) of this world (age) hath blinded the minds of them who believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. "John 3:19 "And this is the condemnation, that light (Jesus Christ) is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil." So you see it is a combination of the sinful hearts of men and Satan blinding them against Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the Only Way to Heaven!

In The Holy Bible in John14:6 “Jesus saith unto, I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” He meant: I am the only way to get to God the Father and to heaven. I am the only truth you need to know to get to God the Father and to heaven. I am the only spiritual life available to mankind. In other words, I am the only true and living God. All other so-called gods are false gods. They are not real. They do not exist. They are Satan or his demons appearing to be gods. No other so-called god has any power to forgive, remove and cleanse men from all their sins and get them to God the Father and to heaven.
The Holy Bible in Hebrews 11:6 says “But without faith it is impossible to please him (God); for he that cometh to God must believe (have faith) that he (God) is, and that he (God) is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him (God).” Parentheses mine!
I pray that, by faith, you will acknowledge that the Lord Jesus Christ is the only true and living God. (Romans 10:9-10 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus {that Jesus is Lord} and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believed unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”).
I pray you will believe all of this and, by faith, accept the fact that you are a sinner needing to be saved from all your sins (Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” and Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”) and that the blood Jesus Christ shed for you at Calvary is the only way you can have all your sins forgiven, removed and cleansed and the only way you can get to God the Father and to heaven. I pray you will, by faith, acknowledge all of this and ask Jesus Christ to forgive, remove and cleanse you from all your sins and accept Him into your heart and life to live for Him the rest of your life. (John l :12 But as many as received him, to them gave he the power to come sons {children} of God, even to them that believe on his name.”) All of this is what is meant when the Lord Jesus Christ said: “Jesus answered, and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto, Except a man be born again , he cannot see the kingdom of God (go to heaven).” You were born physically into your earthly family. To go to heaven you must be born again spiritually into your heavenly family, God's spiritual family. I pray you will, by faith, turn from all your sins and receive Jesus Christ into your life/heart today, without delay. Do that today.

I have known a couple of satanic worshipers and wondered it myself. The best I could figure is that it was more to be something different than the normal establishment. They grew up in really strict christian type religions. It seemed more a rebellion thing to me. That may not be true for the majority. There may be a lot that simply believe they are in the right. I dont know. But for someone to believe something that is part of a Christian faith but is the bad thing in that faith, it seems the reasons are more rebellion to me.

As a christian, im going to say that they want to be different than any of us. Satanic people are ones that believe in witchcraft and all that bull. Now, if you were to ask why christians follow God, I would say because the want to live for eternity. Life is the beginning, Heaven is the end.

Often because they don't know any better. It could also be because they are rebels and are just looking for a creative way to rebel. And in some cases, it's a passing fad. I guess there are probably as many different reasons as there are people who choose it.

Most of us feel the most comfort in believing in a "higher power" of some sort. Some people just like to express their individuality but don't loose the need of believing in a higher power.

because they have prayed and prayed to god all their lives and have gotten F*cked royally in return, so they turn to the next best thing. at least satan will give you a false sense of happiness on earth before torturing your sould for eternity, whereas god just tortures you with his ways in life, and probably in death.
