Wel, I'm 12, and I'm about to re-do my room. My advice....
Paint the walls really cute & funky colors. If your style is preppy, you could paint lines on the walls, and if its girly-girl then add flowers. You could even paint different walls different colors. Then add a throw rug & squishy pillows. I also have a mini-trampoline in my room, which may sound crazy, but its pretty small & tons of fun lol!!! Then you could install a TV. And definetely a butterfly chair!!! Also, canopies always look great over beds. And for storage, hang up different colored wooden boxes on your walls that you can get at target. they are really really cute!! I wanna be an interior designer when I grow up, so I love decorating my room! Hope I helped &hearts &hearts &hearts

Well thinking about when I was 11 ( all 15 years ago) I had wall to wall New Kids on the Block Posters everywhere the eye can see. 11 yr old now a days are more into everything but that. Best thing to do is ask and try and find a happy middle. If you want to find some cute bedroom stuff that you can look at and work off of try either www.domestications.com or you can also try Urban Outfitter if your 11 yr old likes stuff super colorful.

Depends on the color she likes.. I mean, when I was 11, I didn't love pink, blue was more my color..
But for a 11 year old I'd definately put a TV in there, possibly a computer, but maybe not with internet access or with parental supervision or denied access to alot of sites..
Probably lots of stuffed animals and pillows..
But I'd let her pick out the color.. just give her some samples and let her pick.

I would do pink with white stripes and a bed with one of those net things over it (in white) a pink comforter, oak furniture, one of those disney princess tv's with a dvd player (NO CABLE TV!!!) And a few storage bins with tons of construction paper, glue sticks, and markers! She's getting close to an age where all the taking pictures with friends and making scrapbooks is going to become her life!
And if it were my daughter I'd put ballet shoes everywhere and make a ballet theme ( I was a dancer for 12 years and I hope my daughter will become one too! She's only 10 months though so it's too early for that!)

Give her some space to decorate it the way she wants but set limits so it still looks clean, if she paints it she may get tired of it in a couple years as she matures more. But give her some say just not all of it. You want it to look like a bedroom remember that.

What about really bright and tropical like? Maybe bright orange walls? A hawaain looking bedspread, a bright rug that amtches the bedpread, get an old desk and paint it to match the theme. Really vivid colors. She can grow with this type of decor and if she wants it a diff. color in a few year, so what- it is just paint- cheap and easy!! I re-paint ALL the time!!

At 11 years old, she's old enough to have some input into this. Find out what her interests are, her favorite colors, etc. You might even solicit her help, though don't count on her to follow through really well... she's at the edge of being able to follow through and not... I have one daughter that loves dolphins and blue, one that loves Bratz and one that loves Spongebob, so set about asking her interests and go from there.

II year old girl...well....this is only a couple years to teenage girl. It should be pretty but ready for high school...unless you want to redecorate two more times. Try to make it so that is can match any tase..meaning....choose colors that you can find easily or that match many other colors. For the walls as well. It should look like it is starting to be grown up.....Remember....I say grown up....not old person. Watch out for that.

It depends on the girl. If she's a girly girl, pink is fine. If she's a tomboy, she might like sports stuff. If she's into music, then she might want posters of her favorite bands. Etc.
11 year old girls are like snowflakes - no two are alike!

My dream room when I was 11 was girly pink! It would have plenty of girly pink satin pillows. Maybe a pink (or fav color) bed canopy (those are pretty cheap these days) Also, lots of boas for decoration!
Ok, let's just say I used to dream a lot! :o)
