Our earthly life was only meant to be temporal and the thereafter is eternal. So, your life here is a test to see how will we can follow his word. That's why you grow old and die cuz you're not meant to stay here. Actually at first our bodies were meant to last forever, if you remember the early people in the bible lived hundreds of years. It was the sin of Adam and Eve that caused man to fall and be born into sin.

Jesus would resurrect a good person and bring him back to this world because it wasn't his time to go yet. Bring him back was a way to show the world the power of God and so that man can give his testimony about God to bring non-believers to him.

we grow old and die because i feel the body is only temporary
i am not a christian so can only answer from my own personal opinion
but if we are to believe the Lazarus story of Resurrection then you would be right that Jesus brought him back from a beautiful place .. why ?
i often think about this part and do wonder if indeed it did happen .. could it be possible that Lazarus was only comatose and that this would appear in those times to be dead .. as so many were buried alive until doctors realised there was illnesses that could give the appearance of death .. maybe Jesus knew he was not dead and simply healed him ?

In order to understand the Bible correctly, we need the spririt of revelation to help us. That comes by sincere and humble prayer, asking for understanding as we read the scriptures. I have studied the scriptures all my life and have learned the meaning of the scriptures line upon line and precept upon precept. My understanding grows little by little as I continue to study and pray.
As for the death and resurrection, or bringing someone back from the dead into mortality again. this is to know the mind and will of God and none of us have that knowledge. The best answer I can give you is that each of us has a mission to perform in mortality. Some us discover our purpose and fulfill it and some of us don't. Some of us seek to learn what our mission is and never figure it out but in our efforts we accomplish our purpose without knowing it. Sometimes, our lives are lost prematurely due to illness, accidents or the evil acts of others. In the case of Jesus bringing Lazarus back to life, He declared that his death was for the express purpose of Jesus being able to show forth the power of God that was in Him. He needed to show His followers that He had power over life and death. That is why He intentionally delayed His trip to Bethany, so that Lazarus would indeed be dead. It is significant that he had been dead four days when Christ arrived. There is some indication that the Jews believed that the spirit was still around for three days, so being dead four days, the tradition was eclipsed and the miracle more valid to display His power over death.
I just finished reading the stories of Elijah and Elisha, both of whom restored young boys to their widowed mothers after premature deaths. In both of those cases, the prophets display the compassion of God on the widows to give them back their sons who were their only hope for support. The boys were able to complete their mortal lives and give continued service to their mothers.
There are many reasons for such miracles and each one may be different.
