There are several different verses in the Bible that say Jesus is the Son of God and that he is, indeed, a manifestation of God. Someone already asked this question, so if you search it, you'll probably see a lot of good answers!

Jesus declares himself to be the I Am of the old testament. This is probably a bad translation from the original texts but it compares with the Old Testament when God tells Moses to tell the children of Israel that I Am sent him. So when Christ told the Pharisees that he was I Am, they were angry to the point of declaring blasphemy and ordering his crucifixion. The declaration of I Am is the same as declaring himself to be Jehovah or Yahweh, the God of the Israelites in the Old Testament. What they don't understand is that Jesus was indeed the same Jehovah and He was telling the truth in declaring himself to be the I Am or Jehovah of the Israelites.
That said, Jesus also taught all of us to pray to God the Father, not to him, the Son of God. We are to pray to the Father in the name of Christ because he is our mediator with the Father in all things. We approach or go to the Father through Christ in prayer and in the judgment.
Therefore, the short answer is that He did declare Himself to be the God of the Old Testament but He did not tell us to pray to Him, but rather to the Father in His name.

In Isaiah, He shall be called Wonderful, Counselor ALMIGHTY GOD, EVERLASTING FATHER, prince of peace, In John, Inthe beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word WAS GOD. All throughout the Bible, especially when you understand more of the Hebrew you begin to get more of an understanding of who Jesus was.
You just have to read it, all in context and allow the Holy Spirit to bring you understanding.

All through John, chapter 1, chapter 5, chapter 17 it tells you He and God are one, but remember Thomas? He said he wouldn't believe until he put his hand in Jesus's side? When he saw Jesus, he said "My lord and My God"

Read the very first verse of John's Gospel. "The Word" that John refers to is Jesus.

We NEVER pray to Jesus. If I am not mistaken he directly said not to pray to him. We pray to the Father in the name of Christ. That is why a proper Christian will end their prayer In Jesus's name we pray, or something similar.

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God...The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us" (John 1:1;14)
And we pray to the Father, who is the giver of all things, but we pray "in Jesus' name" because He says "'I tell you the truth, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.'" (John 16:23)

Christian mythology says that Jesus is the son of God by a mortal woman. Jesus' level of divinity was "voted" upon by the Catholic Church to be raised to the status that it is today.
