there's enough physical fundamentalism in the world without adding more on the basis of faith, no?

for example, the laws of thermodynamics are fundamental to the world

shouldn't we be grateful that the only fundamentals, really, in the world, are all physical ones, and the rest is left up to us?

i'm grateful there's a bit of room left for me to navigate an individualistic journey through my life

this is one of the reasons why i am put off by religious fundamentalism, that their's is the one true god, and their religion is the ONLY way of life etc etc

i just don't see that there is any need for such extra fundamentalism. we already have enough to contend with in the natural physical world, such as it takes 14 hours for me to fly to london, damnit! damn physics!!!

i think this site, godchecker:

http://www.godchecker.com/
Godchecker.com - Your Guide To The Gods. Mythology with a twist!

gives a strong basis for my idea, since if there WERE one true god, there would not be around 2000 gods from all around the world on there, there would only have to be one god, one religion.

With all those gods, do you think that there is a one true GOD?

You ask a tough question.
I don't feel that I can give you a good answer.

All I can say is, it depends on faith.
Your individual faith.
May I suggest, that you say "if you are real and you are the real thing, reveal yourself to me."
I think that this would be a reasonable request to make of God.

By the way, there will be a one world religion in the future, perhaps sooner than we think.

Everything in life is a personal quest, even faith. You must realize that just because someone acts like they have faith or does things because "that seems appropriate" to what they believe, doesn't actually mean they have reconciled their beliefs with themselves. You can be a part of anything and still be yourself. Being a young woman exploring my own religious beliefs has had no effect on my ability to think rationally or as a individual, nor has it limited my view of the world and all the different ideas and beliefs. Our greatest gift of all is our ability to be ourselves and still be unconditionally loved for that.

Good luck on your own personal quest.

It's a good thing DAD sorted out the thermodynamics before you got here then huh?

Always the whining... why why why?? Better 14 hour flights to London than DAD knows how long in a rowboat... flight menus have made leaps and bounds in quality over the years .. praise DAD!

The data in your answer eludes my understanding, but I just wanted to thank you for using fundamentalism in an untypical way. I don't think most who contribute to this category know, for example, what the Christian Fundamentalist movement of the early 20th century is.
