My ex and i were together six years, and broke up just days before she had her puppies. She had five total, and is now trying to sell them. I don't want money or another puppy, i want one of MY dog's puppies. I am devastated and heartbroken over this. We've had both since they were first puppies themselves, and have waited so long for them to have puppies of their own. The male is registered to me, so i'm wondering if that helps any?

Keep in mind my ex and i have been together 6 years, and the dogs lived together, so there were no stud services or contracts. Our puppies are together 24/7 and we were hoping for puppies. He isn't letting me have one of Jade's puppies to completely spite me. I'm sure he's more concerned about any money he can get from the five pups. I am just curious if i am legally entitled to the puppies (I only want 1, and a male at that! Would it kill the man to be nice?)

Depends on if you have an agreement to split any litters. It would have to be in writing. your ex could be nice and let you have one maybe the last one that isn't picked by anyone. But You won the male, your ex the female so your ex doesn't owe you anything. Who paid the stud fee?? if you both did then you both should benefit!

why don't you get a friend of yours that he doesn't know to go by one of the puppies for you. It isn't the unsneakiest way but you would get one of the puppies and once you had him, your friend would just bring the pup to you. There is nothing he could do about it.

if you own the male chihuahua and she owns the female i dont see why she wont give you one . its just like when i bred my female chi the stud owner has first pick of litter or stud fee. she is just being MEAN AS FAR AS IM CONCERNED YOU HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO A PUP. IF IT WASNT FOR HIM SHE WOULDNT HAVE ANY GOOD LUCK ALL SHE WANTS IS THE MONEY SHE CAN GET.

Nope. The owner of the female owns the pups. Unless you have it written otherwise in a contract.

I think that you should. But why are u asking us? Won't your ex let u have one? If he's trying to give them away it's just natural that you see if the owner of the father wants one.
