My parents were illegal immigrants from ireland back in the late 70's, they went through hardships just to survive. They never committed a crime or got federal aid. That's why i'm not quick to blame illegals or become anti illegal. What i do not agree with is the way anti illegal people handle the issue. That's what it is people an issue and crime, poverty, unemployment, federal aid abuse are all different issues and should not be lumped in to the illegal immigration issue. Isn't it ignorant to lump them together when the majority of these issues except for illegal immigration are cause by mainly US citizens, or is it ok for citizens to do all this but if you're illgal it's not ok. Why focus an illegal immigrations plus all these issues lumped to it and not tackle the issues separately as to contain the number of people that commit the crime wether illegal or not? Or are we giving our citizens a free comit crime, and not work time while we deal with illegals?

Ok His_girl, you say there's 12 million illegals in the country, and the population is about 250 million, now 12 million of them are not committing crime so to me it seems that you are just trying to justify citizens being able to commit crime.

living in America, it's plain to see we do not have our priorities straightened out. we are so worried about Mexicans crossing the boarder..people who want a better life for themselves and their families, people who have a hard work ethic, you work for it, you will get it. It's sad that we worry so much about them when our own citizens are tearing our country apart little by little.

I personally have no problem with the illegal immigration as long as they get a job and learn English...they may have came here for a job anyway, but they should learn English....most of them just want a better life, it isn't fair to deny them that, especially when American citizens take it for granted.

Like my dad said "You never have an appreciation for the US until you go to another country." he went to Poland once...they cut off the phone likes at a certain time and he had to leave the country just to call my mom because US calls were illegal.

point:American needs to focus on every aspect of our downfall, not just move them all into one category. each problem is separate in it's own right, therefor should be treated accordingly.

this was a very good question.

I don't necessarily agree that people lump these issues together... perhaps people are more likely to blame an illegal immigrant for a crime than a legal person. Let's face it -- we don't like people who are different from us, and we feel threatened by people who are different. But the fact of the matter is that this country depends on the work of illegal immigrants; otherwise, more of us would be out of jobs and would not be able to live the quality of life that we live. I believe that undocumented people should have a path to legal status so that they can continue to make thier contributions here in our country, but also start to pay into the social systems that support everyone.

Sounds like you're a bit biased in this. What you must realize is that U.S. immigration requirements are the most lenient in all the world. Go find what it takes to get into Mexico and have a good laugh. If we let illegals come in unchecked, they will overrun this country, chew up all entitlement money earmarked for legal citizens, take away jobs and lower everyone's pay, and they don't feel that they should even learn English. Your taxes and way of life are being threatened. When you go to retire there will be no Medicare or Social Security. Will that be the time when you finally wake up to what is happening?

You make a good point. As a society we are quick to point the finger. It is true one issue doesn't necessarily lead to the next. But I firmly believe it is human nature to try and blame someone else and not look at out own contributions to the issue. There are illegals that add to the issue, but as you say it is likely a minority.

It expenses extra to deport them than we spend on those classes (BTW unlawful extraterrestrial beings won't be in a position of get welfare and nutrition stamps). What we could desire to do is to hire extra immigration judges and enable them to hand out eco-friendly enjoying cards to the forged ones and deportation orders to the undesirable ones. as this is we ought to scrap the gadget each 2 many years and do an amnesty with the aid of fact we've not allowed the forged ones with families or interest skills in quickly sufficient and might't locate the undesirable ones for each and all the innocuous ones with the aid of fact of our stupid rigid gadget. in case you get a job right here or marry a citizen, you need to have a visa or eco-friendly card in 3 months. in addition, in case you dedicate against the regulation in the U. S., you need to be on the airplane the day when you end your sentence.

Well, once again, we would have less work to do if the illegals were deported. Why accept more criminal behavior than we have to. Also, once they enter into this country illegally, they are criminals. So if you are trying to say that there are more American citizen criminal than illegal criminals, consider that the estimate is 12 million illegal (thereby being criminals) aliens in this country. That's NOT small potatoes.

The biggest difference between most immigrants (illegal or legal) and Mexican immigrants is that the Mexican immigrants do not want to assimilate to the way our country does things. They expect us to cater to them. We create bilingual textbooks, bilingual signs, bilingual menus. The list goes on & on. It cost our country twice as much to create these bilingual objects.

I don't lump everything together but I think that we shouldn't employ "illegal immigrants" . To employ them is to use them and to delay their becoming legal by going through proper chanels. I welcome everyone but not when they don't follow the proper procedures to become legal

Did your parents ever learn English ? Did they keep flying the Ireland flag ? If they became Americans at heart then fine . Did they keep their money in th U.S.A. Mexicans don't that's why we are mad.
